Woodvine’s 41 Points Lift Corban Women’s Basketball to 85-79 Triumph at Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Pouring in a career-high 41 points, Jordan Woodvine lifted the Corban University women's basketball team to a critical road win on Friday night, defeating Oregon Tech, 85-79. The victory marked the first win for the Warriors in Klamath Falls since the 2014-15 campaign, while during the 2018-19 season, it was Corban's six-straight win overall.

"No one in our program had won here on this court," said Corban head coach Bill Pilgeram. "Shorthanded against a good team on the road, our team really came together and was mentally tough for 40 minutes. Playing through OIT's run in the fourth quarter showed a lot of maturity and poise."

In a high-scoring first half, Woodvine took over in the second quarter, helping the Warriors score 27 total points in the stanza en route to the 51-point first half.

The second half was much more defensive, as Coran scored just 18 points in the third and 16 in the fourth, but the Warriors were able to withstand a late Owls' (10-8, 4-4 CCC) run and seal the six-point triumph on the road.

Woodvine's 41 points came on a 15-for-23 shooting mark as she went 6-for-7 from downtown while also grabbing four boards in 36 minutes played. Treasure Farmer and Emily Yost both also proved to be critical in the win, as the two players combined to shoot a very efficient 14-for-20 from the field and tallied 17 points and 16 points, respectively. Yost was big on the boards, tallying seven on the night in the win.

Additionally, Kendra Murphy proved crucial down low, hauling in seven rebounds herself, while Lindsay Asplund and Abby Forsyth each grabbed four.

As a team, Corban shot 61.5% from beyond the arc and 56.4% from the field overall, leading to the victory.

"JW was incredible tonight," said Pilgeram. "She hit amazing shots inside and out and she was unstoppable tonight. Our bench and depth was essential. Abby Forsyth and Kendra Murphy both played some of their best basketball of the year tonight at very opportune times!"

Corban (12-6, 6-2 CCC) returns to the hardwood tomorrow night for a key matchup in Ashland at Southern Oregon University. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
