Balanced Offensive Effort Delivers Fourth-Straight CCC Win for Warrior Women’s Hoops

SALEM, Ore. – With five players registering double-digit scoring efforts, the Corban University women's basketball team displayed its offensive depth during its 78-70 victory over the Multnomah University Lions on Saturday evening. The win marks the team's fourth-straight Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) triumph, and fifth-straight win overall.

"Tonight we had a great team effort with five players in double figures," said Corban head coach Bill Pilgeram. "Twenty assists—including nine for Treasure Farmer—meant we were moving and sharing the ball very well."

Both teams came out of the gates hot, with the Warriors and Lions each shooting over 40% from the field and 30% from downtown in the first half. The lead changed hands multiple times, but a strong 24-point fourth quarter helped the Navy and Gold pull away and seal the victory in the final minutes.

As a team, Corban finished the game with a field goal percentage of 50%, while also managing to out-rebound (42-34) and out-assist (20-15) the Lions in the triumph.

Individually, Emily Yost led the way for the Warriors with a dominant performance down low. The senior forward notched 16 points and 14 boards on the night, demonstrating her All-Conference prowess under the rim for the Navy and Gold.

Jordan Woodvine (22 points, five assists, four rebounds), Lindsay Asplund (11 points), Abby Forsyth (11 points, career high) and Farmer (11 points) rounded out Corban's double-digit performers.

"Abby and Lindsay both defended well and scored, which gave us a huge lift!" Pilgeram added.

Standout guard Sequoia Wheeler led the Lions with 21 points on the evening, with Bethany George (12 points) also reaching double figures, and Alaygza Portis and Rachelle Tau each adding 10 points of their own.

The red-hot Warriors (11-6, 5-2 CCC) will now take to the road for a four-game swing away from the comforts of home, starting with a pair of battles down south against Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon. The games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday (January 11) and Saturday (January 12).
