GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Corban University women's soccer team fell in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play for just the second time on Friday afternoon. The Warriors had the advantage in nearly every statistical category, but were unable to find the back of the net in the 2-0 defeat.

The Navy and Gold outshot the Argos by a 15-13 margin on the afternoon, while also earning five corners to Providence's one.

Neither team was able to break through in the first 45, with goalkeepers Malie Kuia and Jenna Evertz leading their respective defenses to scoreless first halves.

It was Eme McLaughlin who finally opened the scoring in the 66^th minute, giving the hometown Argos a 1-0 advantage with just over 30 minutes to play. Isa Ortman was credited with an assist on the goal.

The Warriors created opportunities to draw even, firing off 10 second-half shots in pursuit of an equalizer. Evertz and the Argo defense held strong, however, with the Providence keeper collecting four second-half saves en route to the shutout.

Shayenn Thompson provided some late insurance for the Argos, finding the back of the net in the 88^th minute to put the game out of reach.

It's the second CCC win of the season for Providence, which moves to 3-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

The Warriors (7-4-1, 4-2-1 CCC) will look to rebound tomorrow, traveling to Helena, Mont. for a matchup with Carroll College at 3:30 p.m. MST.
