(RV) Corban Men’s Basketball Dominates Northwest Indian College, 115-42

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The (RV) Corban University men's basketball team saw five players reach double figures in a dominating 115-42 win over Northwest Indian College on Saturday afternoon. It's the program's largest margin of victory since the turn of the century.

"We were able to play a lot of different guys and get lots of minutes from different players," said head coach Mitch Freeman. "We played hard and we played together for 40 minutes. I'm excited to see how we can get better as competition gets tougher in the upcoming weeks."

The Warriors leave the Northwest Classic after collecting a pair of wins, outscoring their opponents by a combined tally of 227-112. The squad shot at a blistering 58.4% from the field, going 10-of-24 from beyond the arc.

Dominique Lawrence picked up a double-double in the triumph, scoring 13 points alongside a team-leading 14 boards. For the second-straight day, Mauricio Smith led the team in scoring, ending the afternoon with 19 points and six rebounds.

With this weekend serving as his first action of the season, Denis Kirichencko showed no rust in his return from injury, racking up 17 points and eight boards after his double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) yesterday.

Jake Estep (14 points, four rebounds) and Isiah Quintero (13 points, seven rebounds) rounded out Corban's five double-digit scorers.

Northwest Indian was led by Ryan Thompson, who collected a team-high 10 points in the defeat.

The Warriors (4-1) will return to Salem for a pair of contests against NCAA Division III adversaries next week.

Corban will host Lewis & Clark College at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, before heading across town to tackle Willamette University (November 16) in the battle for Capital City bragging rights.
