In just his first year at the helm of the Corban University women's basketball team, Bill Pilgeram has captained the program to its highest regular-season finish—and best Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament seeding—in seven years. With an experienced core leading the way, and some of the conference's most dynamic offensive weapons, the Warriors are primed and ready to make a run for the upcoming CCC Tournament crown.

The Warriors and Eagles matched up twice during the 2018-19 regular season, with the Navy and Gold sweeping the regular-season series. On December 29, the Warriors downed the Eagles in Kirkland, 79-66; Corban completed the series sweep with a 59-50 win on January 26.

Corban is led offensively by one of the CCC's top scorers, Jordan Woodvine. The junior guard is averaging 17.8 points per game, the second-highest mark in the conference. Treasure Farmer, the CCC's leader in assists (5.4 assists per game) should also play a key role as Corban's offensive facilitator in the upcoming tournament.

Down low, Emily Yost is averaging 13.1 points and 7.4 rebounds a game for the Warriors, serving as a consistent under-the-rim presence throughout the year for Pilgeram and company.

The No. 19-ranked Warriors (22-8, 16-4 CCC) finished second in 2018-19 regular-season standings, earning the second seed for the upcoming tournament. Northwest (11-19, 8-12 CCC) begins postseason play as the No. 7 seed, led by the squad's leading scorer, Miranda Langenhorst (12.8 points per game).

Tuesday's contest is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. The winner of the CCC Tournament will earn an automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament, unless the winner is regular-season champion Eastern Oregon, in which case the automatic bid will go to the tournament runner-up.
