"This was one of the best games we played all year vs. one of the nation's best teams," said Corban head coach Mitch Freeman. "Our guys played tough and together for all 40 minutes. We shot the ball well both halves and had a big lift from our bench! We will give our guys a much-needed few days off before we prepare for the No. 25 team in the nation, Northwest Christian."
The victory is Corban's seventh-straight win overall for the Warriors during the 2018-19 season.
The bench points were big on Saturday evening, as the Warriors scored 43 total while limiting Oregon Tech's bench to just 20.
Offensively, Corban was firing on all cylinders early and took a 30-10 lead midway through the first stanza.
Mitch Fink kept the Owls in the game with his hot shooting and ability to drive to the lane, but the Warriors continued to make big shot after big shot in both the first and second halves.
While the Owls (22-6, 13-3 CCC) made nine long-range efforts on the evening, the Warriors sank 11 from downtown, with AJ Hodges, Jaxon Hughes, Dalton Patchen, and Denis Kirichenko each recording a pair from deep.
Shooting 61.5% overall and 55.0% from deep, Corban maintained its double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half, never letting Oregon Tech get any real momentum in the convincing 15-point victory.
Hodges finished with a team-best 18 points in the win, shooting 6-for-10 from the floor, while Hughes and Beau Tilleman each recorded 12 points. In addition, Tyler Wadleigh and Kirichenko chipped in 10 points each in the triumph.
For the Owls, shooting at just a 39.3% mark overall as a team, Fink led the way with 28 points and six assists, but only one other player finished in double-figures for the squad, as Seth Erickson totaled 12 points.
Corban (20-7, 11-6 CCC) returns to the hardwood next Saturday night for Senior Night against Northwest Christian. Tipoff on Saturday, February 16, is slated for 8:30 p.m.
