SALEM, Ore. – With the Willamette Valley forecasted to endure heavy rainfall this weekend, Corban University head baseball coach Derek Legg has announced a change in schedule for the team's upcoming series with the (RV) University of British Columbia.
The two teams will now compete in a doubleheader on Friday, with first pitch of game one taking place at 3 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader slate remains unchanged, with day-two's action still scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m. Volcanoes Stadium remains the venue for all four games.
It's a crucial NAIA-West series for the Warriors (10-12 NAIA West), who currently sit just one game back of College of Idaho (10-10 NAIA West) for the third-place spot in the conference standings.
The Thunderbirds stand atop the NAIA West, coming into this weekend's action with a 14-6 record in conference. Two of those losses came at the hands of the Navy and Gold earlier this season, however, adding further intrigue to this weekend's exciting four-game set.
