CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the 2026 Baseball postseason awards, where the Corban University Baseball program picked up an All-Conference honoree alongside their second-consecutive Athletic Solutions Team Sportsmanship Award, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Junior outfielder Lucas Mertlich was selected as a First Team All-Conference selection for his breakout season in leftfield and occasionally in the designated hitter slot of the Warriors' lineup, while the Navy and Gold baseball squad led by head coach Ryan Harris was once again recognized for their ability to win the right way across the Pacific Northwest.

"Luke had a fantastic year for us!" began Harris regarding one of his numerous standout student-athletes. "I'm incredibly proud of his perseverance over this year. He's incredibly coachable and an incredible human being. Luke was willing to make adjustments and allow this year to be a gradual process that allowed him to stack great games into fantastic series."
The Warriors' starting leftfielder was sensationally in his third season aboard the program, as he ranked top three within the team in nearly every offensive statistical category while leading the squad in doubles (13), triples (3), home runs (7), runs batted in (40), slugging percentage (.541), and total bases (93). His OPS (on-base plus slugging) percentage of .899 topped the Corban baseball program as he represented one of six Warriors to play in at least 49 of 50 regular season contests. On April 13th, he became the first Corban baseball student-athlete in over two decades to hit for the cycle after moving to the leadoff spot and peppering a single, double, triple, and homer against the Oregon Tech pitching staff.
"The Team Sportsmanship Award means a lot to our program," explained Harris when asked to discuss his squad's second-straight team award. "This year, this group had a brotherhood that I haven't seen in a program up close in all my years of college baseball. These guys bought into the team-first mentality from the very first meeting. The relationships that these guys made with each other were so evident that you could see it when we played. No stress, no drama, just love for the guy next to them and compete to give God all the glory."
