PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 11 Corban University volleyball team took care of the Lions of Multnomah University in straight sets on Friday night (25-10, 25-12, 25-13).
The Warriors dominated in every facet of the match, but coach Kim McClain is not satisfied with just tonight's win.
"It was a great team win tonight with everyone contributing," said McClain. "We know that we have to stay focused coming into each match ahead."
Among Friday night's standouts, Jacquelyn Clark shined bright by coming up with a team-high seven kills on 11 attempts, hitting at a .455 clip. Clark also helped out nicely on the defensive side of the ball with two block assists.
Kealani Ontai came up with her typical double-digit dig night with 11 in the match to lead the team. Jadyn Mullen and Ciarra Judson combined for 15 assists on the evening, which set the table for Clark and company to rain down missiles on the Lions' back row.
Taylor Howie scored eight kills for the Lions (match-high), but also had 30 attempts, which led to a hitting percentage of just .167.
The Navy and Gold will see Warner Pacific University for the first time this season on Saturday as they play in Portland for back-to-back days in conference play. The Warriors (10-3, (7-0)), are looking to win their first eight conference matches and show their prowess amongst the conference heavyweights.
