SALEM, Ore. – The Corban University women's basketball team was pitted against the Yotes of the College of Idaho on Saturday night in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center to conclude their regular season slate for the 2019-20 season. The Warriors honored their senior class of players and student assistants along the way, as the Navy and Gold staved off a run at the victory by the Yotes, taking the triumph by a 59-56 final score.

"It was a great team win and a fantastic way to honor our seniors," said head coach Bill Pilgeram. "From starters, to injured players, to student assistants, these seniors have made a tremendous impact on our program."

"I kept thinking throughout the game that we had an offensive run coming," said Pilgeram, "and we finally were able to get a little bit of separation in the fourth quarter with some big plays from Jordan Woodvine and Rayna Pilgeram. Shaelie Burgess is turning into a double-double machine and Bri Turner was solid at both ends!"

The Warriors boasted strong offensive quarters in the first and third stanzas, while playing strong defense throughout the matchup, as they held the C of I shooters to just a 32.3% FG percentage.

Corban shot 58.3% in the first quarter and 60% in the third quarter to boost their cumulative percentage to 42% in the entirety of the game

Jordan Woodvine led the charge in scoring with 23 points on eight made field goals. She had 19 attempts total, five of which were from downtown. She was able to drain two of her five three-point attempts.

Sophia Jackson was the leading scorer for College of Idaho, dropping 17 points on 10 shots, six of which were makes. Five of Jackson's six made baskets were from beyond the circle.

The Warriors (17-11, 13-7 CCC) have finished the regular season in the fifth position in the conference and will be looking to make some noise in the CCC tournament where they will be traveling to Klamath Falls, Ore. to face off against the Owls of Oregon Tech on Tuesday, February 25 at 7 p.m. in the Quarterfinal round of the tournament.
