KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After yet another strong regular season for the Corban University women's basketball team, hopes are high as the Warriors look to make a return to the NAIA National Tournament. The No. 5-seeded Navy and Gold will kick off the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, tonight with a road battle against fourth-seeded Oregon Tech.

The top-four seeds from the regular season—No. 1 Northwest Christian, No. 2 Eastern Oregon, No. 3 Eastern Oregon, and No. 4 Oregon Tech—will host quarterfinal bouts on Tuesday evening, with the highest-remaining seeds hosting the lowest remaining seeds for each subsequent round.
Both the Warriors (17-11 overall) and Lady Owls (19-11 record) finished the 2019-20 conference regiment with a 13-7 record, with Oregon Tech earning the higher seed after claiming both of the squads' previous battles.
Each time the two in-state rivals matched up this season, the contests were decided in the final seconds, as the first duel (January 18) in Klamath Falls was decided (63-60) by an Amanda Constant layup with just two seconds to play, and a one-handed fadeaway from Kristin Farrell fell at the buzzer to deliver an OIT win (61-59) at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on February 7.
Both Constant and Farrell serve as OIT head coach Scott Meredith's primary offensive weapons, tied for the team lead with 10.6 points per game.
Farrell does the bulk of her damage from range, sinking a team-high 80 triples on an outstanding 43.5% mark in 2019-20. Constant grabbed a team-best 5.8 boards per contest this year, leading the charge in the paint.
The Warriors enter postseason play boasting the conference's top defense, limiting opposing teams to just 60.46 points per game. Snatching up the fifth-most rebounds per game of any team in the NAIA, Shaelie Burgess (10.5 PPG, 8.1 RPG) and Kendra Murphy (8.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG) have made their presence felt under the rim all season.
One of the nation's best, Jordan Woodvine averaged 19 points per game in 2019-20, ranking second in the CCC. The reigning First-Team All-American has hit big shot after big shot in her Warrior career, and will undoubtedly look to continue that trend in her final postseason.
Shawnie Spink serves as Corban's primary threat from the perimeter, capable of completely changing the landscape of a game when she gets hot from beyond the arc. In addition, Rayna Pilgeram's versatility and solid all-around play has made her an invaluable piece of the Warrior rotation.
Tip-off for tonight's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. down in Klamath Falls, with the winner advancing to the CCC Semifinals on Friday night.

Regular-season champion Northwest Christian claimed the conference's first automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, with the second berth going to the upcoming tournament champion. Should NCU claim both titles, the latter bid would fall to the CCC Tournament runner-up.
