Corban Women’s Soccer Dominates Bushnell on Senior Day

SALEM, Ore. – Corban women's soccer honored their seniors with six goals on Saturday. A brace from both Klarissa Barajas and Juliana Pires vaulted the Warriors to their 6-0 victory over Bushnell University.  

Director of soccer Tim Kagey said, "It was great to celebrate the seniors with so many goals!"

While the senior leaders each earned a brace, it was Maria-Frances Serrant who began the Warrior scoring spree. In the 39th minute Serrant was able to poke in a loose ball making the game 1-0, Warriors. That was the only score in the first half.

Barajas got things moving again in the 62nd minute, and not even a minute later, Chanel Garcia blasted a ball passed Beacon goalkeeper, Anabel Mendez. While the Warriors were able to find the back of the net six times, Mendez recorded eight saves on the evening.

Pires made her marks in the 64th and 78th minutes, and then in the 80th minute, senior Skyla Vogelpohl passed a great ball to Pires who then found Barajas who was able to score her seventh goal of the season.

The Navy and Gold outshot the Beacons 27 to five.

All ten of the seniors honored at tonight's match started the contest and contributed to the decisive victory.

Corban (12-4, 8-4 CCC) will look to keep the momentum going as they head into the conference tournament on November 9, in Springfield, Ore.
