"This year brings a lot of feelings of anxiousness and excitement all at the same time," said Villalpando. "We have a chance to make history by going to the first-ever NAIA Beach National Championships."
The regular season regimen features a mix of NCAA Division I and NAIA opponents, testing the Navy and Gold against some of the top beach volleyball programs in the West.
The Warriors will start things off at home when they host two NCAA Division I opponents University of Portland and University of Oregon on March 3. A week later, Corban fans can once again see the team in action on campus against Bushnell University's team.
Up next will be the Northwest Invitational, which will take place in Salem at the Corban beach volleyball courts on March 11-12 to wrap up their season-opening home stretch.
The Warriors will then take to the road for a weekend battle at Bushnell University in Eugene, Ore. on March 18-19.
The Navy and Gold will return to Salem for the last three home matches of the season against Bushnell University on March 22-23, and then they will host a rematch with the Pilots from the University of Portland on Wednesday, March 30.
The Warriors and the Beacons will face off twice more before heading into tournament play. Bushnell will host Corban on April 1, and Corban will host Bushnell on April 2.
After that, the Warriors will compete in the Cal-Pac Conference Tournament on April 7-9 before they head to Florida for the AVCA National Championships on April 14-16.
"This is an incredibly determined group. With us placing fourth last season at the AVCA Small College National Championships they got a taste of how good they could really be and have been working hard this offseason. Hopefully that work will pay off come season, as we will need to win the Cal-Pac Conference tournament in order to go to the NAIA Beach National Championships," added Villalpando.
The Navy and Gold will make a quick trip to Seattle to challenge NCAA Division I University of Washington on April 16-17 to prepare for the inaugural NAIA Beach National Championships in Panama City, Fla. on April 21-23.
Villalpando concluded, "I believe this team has what it takes to accomplish our goal, and I am looking forward to the journey we will take together to try and achieve it."
