EUGENE, Ore. – The Corban University beach volleyball team returned to the sand on Tuesday afternoon, traveling down to Eugene, Ore. to face off against NCAA Division I University of Oregon in the squad's lone road dual of the 2021 campaign.
The Ducks swept all five counting matches between the two teams, with Jolinn Daviscourt and Jacquelyn Clark serving as the only Warrior pair to win a set during the contest. After dropping the first game, Daviscourt and Clark bounced back with a nail-biting victory to extend the battle, but the comeback attempt would fall short in the third set.
"There were really good moments today, but ultimately, we need to learn to be more consistent individually and as a team," said head coach Diana Villalpando. "Volleyball is a game of serving and passing, and when you aren't doing either well, it is tough to win. Hopefully this hurts a little bit and motivates us to make good changes for the better."
The first time these two teams met up was on March 4, when the Navy and Gold's top duo (Lauren Condon and Melanie Miller) made history with a thrilling three-set win over the Ducks' No. 1 tandem, Anastasia Lima and Carly Wallace. The two pairs rematched on Tuesday, but Condon and Miller were unable to recreate their season-opening result.
Below are the final scores from this afternoon.
