No. 7 Ranked Corban Volleyball Extends Their Streak to 15

OLYMPIA, Wash. --- No. 7 ranked Corban University volleyball has extended their impressive win streak to 15 with tonight's win over the Evergreen State College.

Head Coach Kim McLain on the Warriors' play this evening, "We came out a little tense tonight, lacking defensively at the net and Evergreen took advantage of it in the first set. I was proud of the team how we settled in and stepped up defensively both at the net and in the back court."

Strangers to an early deficit, the Warriors were able to bounce back in set one after the Geoducks snatched the lead and held on to it until the Warriors tied the match at 14. It was back and forth for the remainder of the set but Corban came away with the win, 27-25.

The Navy and Gold made the necessary adjustments and came out on fire in set two. The Geoduck's earned just 10 points in the second set and the Warriors attacked collectively at an unstoppable 42.9%. The third set was no different, with the Navy and Gold setting the tone early and never looking back. Corban took set three, 25-13.

Avari Ridgway led the Warriors in kills with 12, and was closely followed by Rylee Troutman (11), and Ally Tow (10) who recorded an impressive .667 kill percentage in tonight's game. Allyson Reid and Sarena Bartley also contributed at the net for the Navy and Gold. The Warrior offense was fueled by setters, Jadyn Mullen and Ciarra Judson who had a combined 38 assists on the evening.

Defensively, it was Kealani Ontai who led the team, recording 15 digs. She was followed by Avari Ridgway (7) and Rylee Troutman (6).

It will be a battle of the Warriors next Friday night, as the Corban Warriors (15-0, 9-0 CCC) will be back in Salem at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center, hosting the Warriors of Lewis-Clark State College (11-6, 6-3 CCC) at 7 p.m.
