Corban Men’s Basketball Pushes Streak to Seven with 91-58 Victory over Knights

SALEM, Ore. – The Corban University men's basketball continued its torrid stretch of basketball on Saturday evening, pushing its win streak to seven games with a dominant 91-58 victory over Warner Pacific University.

"We are continuing to live out our identity as a resilient brotherhood," said head coach Taylor Kelly. "Our guys are doing a tremendous job of having each other's backs on the court and celebrating the success of their brother. We came out with a lot of fight and are continuing to use defense to ignite our team."

For the second-consecutive night, the Warriors tallied at least 20 assists, a testimony to the squad's selflessness on offense. In addition, Corban set a new season-high mark with 23 forced turnovers.

Six members of the team finished the night in double figures, led by 13-point efforts from Mateo Escheik and Psalm Maduakor. Jordan Newt (12 PTS, 4 REB), and Taylor Anderson (10 PTS, 4 AST) continued their exceptional guard play, and Kendall Moore (11 PTS, 4 AST) and Denis Kirichenko (10 PTS, 4 REB) once again shined in their role as spark plugs off the bench for Kelly and company.

"I'm proud of the balanced attack our guys are committed to, and the way that we are sharing the ball on offense," Kelly added. "Warrior Nation was awesome again tonight, and we are thankful for their support!"

Darius Henderson led the team with 10 boards, finishing just one point shy (9 PTS) of a double-double in the victory.

As a unit, the Navy and Gold shot an even 50% from the floor, highlighted by an impressive showing (48.5% 3PT) from beyond the arc.

Warner Pacific was led by Tyrese Yussuf-Willis, who ended the night with a team-best 13 points. Thomas Miles and Nigel McKay each tallied 11 points in reserve for the Knights.

The Warriors (14-8, 9-5 CCC) will now look ahead to a big road test next weekend, traveling to No. 13 College of Idaho (18-3, 12-1 CCC) for a 7:30 p.m. (MT) battle on Friday, and rounding out its weekend series with a 5 p.m. (PT) duel against Eastern Oregon University (12-9, 6-7 CCC) on the following night.
