Personal Records Highlight Meet for Corban XC at Charles Bowles Invite

SALEM, Ore. – The Corban University men's and women's cross country teams, along with multiple Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior Colleges competed today in the 47th annual Charles Bowles Invitational, hosted by Willamette University. Over 360 athletes competed in the races giving the Warriors a plethora of tough competition. The Corban men placed 14th, while the Warrior women took 16th as a team.

RESULTS

Head coach Todd Bos commented, "We had a very good day at the meet. Zander Moha, is now the 21st fastest man in Corban's XC history with his time of 26:48.2 today.  Both Ketner Mizee and Forrest Cooley set personal bests while Grant Anderson had a strong race. On the women's side, Samantha Dara dipped under 20 minutes for the first time in college and Lindsay Janzer ran a personal best.  Abby Miller had a good race just missing a personal best by a couple of seconds."

Freshman harrier, Moha, was the first finisher for the men's team with a time of 26:48.2 to finish 79th with Cooley coming in less than a minute behind him at 27:24.8 (a new PR) and finishing 98th. Around 10 seconds later, Mizee crossed the finish line with a time of 27:34.7 (a new PR).

Finishing off the top five for Corban was Anderson with a time of 28:25.8 (new PR), and Noah Andres who registered 29:34.9 (new PR) mark en route to a 156th place effort.

The Corban women finished in 16th as a unit, with Dara leading the women's team with yet another new PR of 19:46.9 finishing 58th. With a time of 21:22.4, Judah Koehler was Corban's second finisher.

Abigail Miller took 119th with a time of 21:57.6 (new PR). The fourth harrier to finish was Janzer who checked in at 23:04.2 (new PR). Anne Morud was the fifth member of the Corban roster to cross the line, clocking a time of 23:23.3 and placing 136th.

Bos added, "We are a young team adjusting to college training and racing. We are thankful to the Lord for this quality group of runners he has brought to Corban, and we will continue to do our best to honor Him and Corban University."

The Warrior men's and women's cross country teams will now look ahead to the Lewis & Clark Invite on October 15, the last full-squad tune-up before the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships on November 4.
