SALEM, Ore. – Going into his fifth season at the helm of the Corban University Women's Basketball, Warriors' Head Coach Bill Pilgeram announced the 2022 Corban Women's Basketball recruiting class earlier this morning.
"We are really excited about this incoming class," Pilgeram stated.
"We have a great group of talented transfers and multipurpose freshman who will make a huge impact on and off the court during their time at Corban," Pilgeram went on to say.
Pilgeram will be bringing six new student-athletes to Tim Hills Court this upcoming season, all of which can be found below with a brief biography of the impressive Warrior signees.
Kirsten Koehnke – 5'6" – Guard – Salem Academy High School/Westmont College (Calif.) – Sublimity, Oregon
Hailing from Sublimity, Oregon, Koehnke has led an impressive collegiate career thus far on the court and in the classroom. While attending Westmont College, she was a GSAC Scholar-Athlete and three-time Dean's List Honoree. Not only did she excel in the classroom while attending Westmont, but Koehnke was also part of the 2021 NAIA National Championship team. Koehnke has been a leader on and off the court since her time at Salem Academy. Koehnke has two years of eligibility remaining.
Koehnke will be completing a master's degree in Counseling while at Corban and plans to pursue a career as a mental health counselor following graduation.
Maddie Godwin – 5'6" – Guard – Liberty Christian High School/ Wenatchee Valley College – Richland, Washington
After attending Wenatchee Valley College for the past three years, Godwin joins the Navy and Gold as a junior guard. A three-sport high school student-athlete, Godwin displays a wide range of skill sets on the basketball court. Godwin was a three-time All-League selection in High School, and an All-Region selection at Wenatchee Valley in the NWAC. Godwin brings scoring presence and maturity to a young Warrior backcourt, and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Godwin will be majoring in Psychology and Sports Management as a Warrior, with intentions to become an athletic director one day.
Anya Remsburg – 5'6" – Guard – Oregon City High School – Oregon City, Oregon
Remsburg highlights the first of four new freshmen to the Warrior program. Remsburg will be looking to continue her family's legacy at Corban University, as her mother Maryann attended Corban and participated in women's soccer for the Warriors, while her father Brian played men's basketball for Corban. Anya brings the footwork of a soccer player to the basketball court. In high school she played three years of varsity soccer along with basketball, garnering Second Team All-League honors in both sports her senior year.
Remsburg plans to pursuit a degree in Accounting as a Warrior, with her eyes set on using her degree in a ministry role.
Mandie Jensen – 5'8" – Wing – Sherwood High School – Sherwood, Oregon
Jensen joins Corban looking to continue her family legacy of playing collegiate athletics. Her father, Paul, played football at the University of Oregon, while her mom Megan played basketball at Hesston College in Kansas. Jensen was a dual sport athlete in high school, competing in both tennis and basketball all four years. Jensen dominated the courts, earning First Team honors all four years in tennis, and both First & Second team honors in basketball as an upperclassman.
Jensen has a heart for education and intends on being an elementary teacher following her career at Corban.
Jenna Albrecht – 5'8" – Guard – Ridgeview High School – Bend, Oregon
Albrecht joins the program after an impressive four-year athletic career at Ridgeview High School. Albrecht was a force to be reckoned with on the volleyball and basketball court, garnering multiple All-League honors in both sports. Perhaps the most impressive honor she received was Player of the Year in both basketball and volleyball. While her accolades on the court are impressive, she was also a track star the two years she competed as a Raven. As a freshman she earned First Team All-League honors, and Second Team All-League her senior year, qualifying for state both years she competed.
Albrecht will be pursuing a degree in psychology, with the intention of becoming a child and family psychologist following her time at Corban.
Sevennah Van De Riet – 5'8" – Forward – Corvallis High School – Corvallis, Oregon
Van De Riet rounds out the group of versatile recruits joining the program in 2022. Hailing from Corvallis, Oregon, Van De Riet was a three-sport athlete in softball, soccer, and basketball. Van De Riet garnered All-League honors in all three sports. On the basketball court, she was a force in the paint on both ends of the floor. She received both First and Second Team All-League awards and ended her productive career with Honorable Mention All-State honors.
Van De Riet will pursue a Kinesiology degree at Corban and intends on becoming an athletic trainer.
