No. 6 Corban Beach Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day with 4-1 Win over Beacons

SALEM, Ore. – The No. 6-ranked Corban University beach volleyball team wrapped up its spring regular-season schedule on a high note on Saturday afternoon, defeating Bushnell University (4-1) on a beautiful afternoon in the Willamette Valley.

Corban swept the season series against the Beacons with the triumph, recognizing its seniors—Makenna Campbell, Briana Ayala, Natalia Olabarrieta, Kaitlin Hunter, and Michelle Rosas—prior to the competition.

"It was a special day, honoring our seniors and coming out with another win," head coach Diana Villalpando stated.

"Bushnell changed a few things up today, switching their ones and twos," Villalpando said of the dual. "It was great to see Maya and Nicole still take care of business at the twos, and Avari and Makenna stayed strong with a dominant win in the ones."

Corban ends the 2022 regular season with an impressive 12-3 overall record, and will now set its sights on postseason play.

That will begin on April 7-9 at the Cal-Pac Conference Tournament, which will be hosted in Chula Vista, Calif.

"We are looking forward to the Cal-Pac Tournament and representing Corban and the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) well," Villalpando mentioned, looking at the road ahead.
