CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The No. 6-ranked Corban University beach volleyball team competed in bracket play at the Cal-Pac Conference Tournament on Friday. The Navy and Gold defeated Marymount in straight sets in the quarterfinals before downing No. 10-ranked Park Gilbert (Ariz.) in the semifinals, earning a place in the Cal-Pac Tournament Championship dual tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

Corban's opponent will be No. 3-ranked Westcliff University, and the winner of the battle will earn a place in the NAIA Beach Volleyball National Invitational.

"The girls fought hard today," said head coach Diana Villalpando. "Now, we still have to show up tomorrow against a tough Westcliff team."

In the Cal-Pac Tournament Quarterfinals, Corban re-matched Marymount, defeating the Mariners in straight sets for the second-straight day. After the Navy and Gold claimed the first three matches of the dual (Nos. 2, 4, and 3), the dual was truncated.
