CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2023-24 CCC Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll on Wednesday morning, as the Corban University Women's Basketball team was picked to finish one spot higher than their final standing last season with a sixth-place finish on tab for this upcoming year.

"As always, the CCC is going to be a tough matchup every night," Warriors' head coach Bill Pilgeram stated when asked to comment on the poll results. "We are ready for the challenge and excited to get some games played as we prepare to be right in the mix for conference play."
To no surprise, defending CCC co-champions of the regular season, Eastern Oregon University and Lewis-Clark State College, each finished within a single vote of each other at the top of this year's poll, with the Mountaineers (136) picked to win the conference despite LC State (135) holding more first place votes, 6 to 5.
Southern Oregon University (123) received the last remaining first-place vote of the poll to sit firmly in third place, followed by Oregon Tech and Bushnell University who round out the top five with 99 and 96 votes, respectively.
The Warriors (80) are the only program in the poll to rise in the rankings when compared to their finish in the 2022-23 season, as they jumped The College of Idaho (74) to give themselves a fighting chance in being considered for a top five selection. Northwest University (57) rounds out the eight teams that are considered to be the preseason selections to eventually reach the 2023-24 CCC Tournament next February.
The last four remaining teams in the preseason poll are represented by The Evergreen State College (41) in ninth, Multnomah University (37) and Walla Walla University (37) who each tied for tenth, and conclude with Warner Pacific University (17) in twelfth overall.
Corban women's basketball looks to kick off the 2023-24 season this upcoming Saturday at 2pm, as they'll host their annual Alumni Game at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center prior to the Meet the Warriors Banquet later that evening at 6pm. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased ahead of time by clicking HERE.
