SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Men's Basketball head coach Taylor Kelly has announced the five recruits added to his 2023-24 roster for the upcoming season, including four coveted transfers and a true freshman addition to the Warriors' lineup. Coach Kelly maintained ten returners from last year's squad, giving him fifteen rostered student-athletes in total for the varsity program when you include the five new additions.
"I'm really excited about this year's recruiting class, as we have a great combination of character, talent, and toughness arriving to campus," Coach Kelly explained. "This is a group that is committed to growing in their faith and representing this amazing Corban community."
Coach Kelly continued with his analysis by stating, "On the court, they will add to our versatility and are highly skilled individuals who will continue to allow us to grow into the defensive minded program we are known for being. They also possess great offensive skill sets who will add to our ability to play fast and free with pace and space.

Coach Kelly will be welcoming four transfers and one freshman to the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center this upcoming season, all of which can be found below with a brief biography written about the notable Warrior signees.
Kenneth Harris Jr. – 6'0" – Guard – McKinney, Texas – McKinney North HS – Chadron State University
The first of three Texas natives to join the Warriors this upcoming season, Harris Jr. comes to Corban's campus with multiple years of experience at the NCAA DII level where he spent his first three years as an Eagle at Chadron State University. While at Chadron State, he averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game during his junior season in which he played 27 games and logged 733 minutes, all while maintaining a Dean's List GPA academically. Prior to his collegiate career, Harris Jr. was a First Team All-League selection and named Team MVP at McKinney North High School.
Harris Jr. will be pursuing a master's degree in business administration as he competes in his senior season of eligibility.
Devean Hinton – 6'6" – Forward – Houston, Texas – Liberty HS – Lane Community College
Hinton makes the journey north up the I-5 corridor following a spectacular season at Lane Community College, where the Houston, Texas native averaged a team-high 14.4 points per game while shooting 53.8% from the field. An absolute all-around player, Hinton averaged a double-double for the entire 2022-23 season when you include his 10.0 rebounds per game, all while adding 44 assists and 23 steals in 884 minutes of action. He was an All-League selection and conference champion during his career at Liberty High School as well.
Hinton will be studying kinesiology during his time in the navy and gold clad uniforms.
Aundree Polk – 6'5" – Guard – Portland, Ore. – Jefferson HS – Olympic Community College
Polk begins his career at the NAIA level following a dominant season among the NWAC programs, putting together an MVP season at Olympic Community College for the North Region. He was also named to the NWAC All-Tournament Team following a championship match appearance by the Rangers and the Offensive Player of the Year for the program. Polk averaged 22.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game to lead the team by a wide margin.
Polk is currently pursuing a degree in communications during his time as a Warrior.
Preston Sherburne – 6'2" – Guard – Boise, Idaho – Owyhee HS
The only true freshman of the 2023-24 recruiting class for Coach Kelly, Sherburne arrives on campus following a busy high school career at Owyhee where he played four years of varsity basketball and two years of football. On the court, Sherburne averaged 5.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while helping lead the team to a 5A Idaho State Championship in 2022.
Sherburne has plans of becoming a personal trainer and will be studying kinesiology during his first year of higher education.
Jay Wilson – 6'7" – Forward – Denton, Texas – Lewisville HS – Collin County Community College
Following two years of play at Collin County Community College in McKinney, Texas, Wilson arrives at Corban hungry to compete at the NAIA and Cascade Collegiate Conference levels that are known for having established big men in the paint. During his time as a Cougar, Wilson averaged 7.2 points and 4.0 rebound per game with a .609 field goal percentage, tallying 31 blocks and 29 steals in two seasons.
Wilson will be continuing the pursuit of a degree in sports management while he remains committed to building his resume to compete professionally as a basketball player post college.
