CALDWELL, Idaho – Thee 2023 season officially came to a close for the Corban University Women's Cross Country team earlier this morning, as the Warriors completed their final race of the year at the Fairview Golf Course in Caldwell, Idaho. The Warriors finished in seventh place overall as a program, exactly where the 2023 Coaches' Preseason Poll projected them to finish when all was said and done.

"The women's race had some highs and lows," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos shared this afternoon. "We were hoping Samantha would sneak into nationals but, although she ran a good race, it wasn't quite fast enough to make the cut. Judah had a great race with a big PR."
When asked to touch on the overall season results, Coach Bos stated, "I am super proud of our women's team this year. They have a been a fun, hardworking, cohesive team and continue to lay the foundation for years to come. I'm very grateful to God for each of these wonderful ladies."
Junior Samantha Dara was the top overall finisher for the Navy and Gold, logging a 23:17.7 in the season's final race to earn a Top 20 placement for her team. Crossing the finish line just over 24 minutes was junior Judah Koehler, taking 31st overall with a final time of 24:05.4.
The next three Corban runners all finished within 31 seconds of each other, as redshirt sophomore Anne Morud, combined with freshmen Abigail Scott and Johnna Waddell, earned placements in 53rd, 55th, and 56th overall, respectively. This marks the first collegiate race for Waddell as she was able to qualify for the event over the past two weeks, while Morud and Scott join Koehler as the only three Warriors to compete in every meet this season.
In addition to the usual suspects racing in the navy and gold uniforms, due to the injury-plagued season that the Warriors have suffered through as of late, freshmen cross country runners Leah Twede and Jenna Miller traded their track spikes for long distance shoes over the past few weeks to help the Warriors in case of a late withdrawal, completing their races within a tenth of a second of each other at the 32:27 mark.
The Navy and Gold conclude their 2023 season with a handful of personal record improvements over the course of the year for one of, if not the, youngest team in the conference. A majority of the student-athletes will also be competing in the spring track and field season, with the indoor slate scheduled to begin this upcoming winter.
