Corban Women’s Cross Country Tabbed for Seventh Place Finish via 2025 CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2025 Women's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll earlier today, where the Corban University Women's Cross Country team was voted to a seventh-place selection by the west coast head coaches. With the CCC represented by top ten national finishers on an annual basis, the Warriors will have an opportunity to climb the conference rankings and outperform expectations in the conference championships held just twenty-two minutes from Corban's campus.

"We have improved a lot on the women's side of the course but still need to be able to stay healthier and run more miles collectively as a group," Warriors' associate head coach Stuart Eagon explained. "We'll have plenty of opportunities to showcase our strengths throughout the season as a program and look forward to both the challenges and successes that God has in store for us this year!"

The College of Idaho (141) outshined the entire conference with ten of the twelve first place votes available as the Yotes look to pick up a seventh-straight conference title, having taken home a CCC banner each year since the fall of 2019. Lewis-Clark State College (123) earned the final two first place votes yet earned the runner-up preseason poll title by just five voter points over third-place Eastern Oregon University (118). Conference rivals Southern Oregon University (113) and Oregon Tech (85) made up the final top five programs in this year's preseason rankings.

Thanks to a breakout season in 2024, the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College (79) found themselves in sixth place just above the Warriors (71), who sit 14 voter points ahead of Northwest University (57). The Navy and Gold finished seventh overall in the 2024 CCC Championships with just a single top twenty finisher, yet were right behind the Beacons of Bushnell University (55) who took sixth in last year's championship meet yet were ranked ninth in today's preseason results.

The newcomer Spartans of Trinity Western University (42) will start their inaugural CCC and NAIA seasons of competition in tenth overall, followed by Walla Walla University (29) and Warner Pacific University (19) to round out twelve-team field. Warner Pac will be joining TWU in their own first season of long-distance action since the fall of 2020 with the program having been cut in the summer of 2021 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Navy and Gold are scheduled to host the 2025 CCC Championships on Friday, November 7th at the Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence, just 22 minutes from the foot of Corban's campus with an opportunity to avenge today's preseason results in front of Warrior Nation supporters.

The Corban women's cross country squad will make their first appearance in the 2025 regular season slate on Saturday, August 30th at the Lewis & Clark Opener, hosted by NCAA DIII Lewis & Clark College at the Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon.
