SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Men's Basketball head coach Taylor Kelly has unveiled the ten new recruits added to his 2024-25 roster, including nine qualified transfers and a true freshman addition to the Warriors' lineup. With a diverse mix of talent and experience, these ten recruits are poised to make a significant impact on the Warriors' competitive edge in the upcoming season.

The newly rostered members of the Corban men's basketball program can all be found below with a brief biography of the unique resumes they bring to the team.
Benett Bos | 6-3 | 190 lbs | Junior | Guard | Salem, Ore. | Salem Academy HS | Linn-Benton CC
Bos returns to Salem after two years at Linn Benton Community College. During his two seasons at LBCC, Bos assisted the team to the sweet sixteen twice and received an all-conference honorable mention. In high school, Bos collected four all-league, three all-state, and two league player of the year honors. He was also the 2A player of the year, 2A Oregon state champion in 2021 and was the all-time leading scorer for Salem Academy High School.
Bos is pursuing a business and kinesiology degree with plans of becoming a basketball player development coach.
Drayton Caoile | 6-0 | 190 lbs | Senior | Guard | Portland, Ore. | West Linn HS | Univ. of Providence
After two years at both Bushnell University and University of Providence, Caoile joins the Navy and Gold for the 2024-25 season. Graduating from University of Providence this last spring, Caoile is using his final year of eligibility at Corban. Caoile was also a four-year varsity basketball player for West Linn High School.
Caoile is pursuing a master's in business administration.
Clyde Harris Jr. | 6-1 | 185 lbs | Junior | Guard | Fairfax, Va. | Oceanside HS | Palomar College
Harris joins the Warriors after collegiate experience at Palomar College. Harris was named defensive player of the year during his two years of basketball at Palomar. In high school, Harris averaged 21.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, and received all-league honors. Harris was also a two-time MVP for basketball and competed two years of high school football.
Harris is pursuing a kinesiology degree during his time at Corban.
Ben Krystkowiak | 6-4 | 195 lbs | Sophomore | Guard | San Diego, Calif. | Olympus HS | Robert Morris Univ.
Ben Krystkowiak enters the Navy and Gold following two years at NCAA DI Robert Morris University. In high school, Ben averaged 13.5 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game, and earned first team all-region. His father, Larry Krystkowiak played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, and Utah Jazz during his 10 years in the NBA.
Ben is pursuing a sports management business degree with dreams of playing professional basketball.
Luc Krystkowiak | 6-5 | 210 lbs | Senior | Guard | Salt Lake City, Utah | Brighton HS | Cal State San Marcos
The eldest Krystkowiak on the roster, joins the Warriors after a diverse career in the NCAA. In the 2021-22 season, Luc made first team all-conference at Irvine Vally College. In high school, Luc averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds, and four assists per game and earned second team all-state his senior year. He is also a son of Larry Krystkowiak who played in the NBA for 10 years.
Luc is pursuing a kinesiology and communication degree with the hope of becoming a professional basketball player after Corban.
Payton Meyers | 6-5 | 186 lbs | Junior | Guard | Salem, Ore. | Canby HS | Clackamas CC
Meyers returns to his hometown and enters the Corban basketball program for the 2024-25 season. During his two years at Clackamas Community College, Meyers earned all-freshman first team and second team all-southern region honors. His freshman year he aided his team to a final four appearance in the Northwest Athletic Conference and led the team in 3-point percentage. In high school, Meyers averaged 21 points per game, logged the single season scoring record, and was named first team all-league for Canby High School.
Meyers is pursuing a business degree with an interest in finance.
RJ Veliz | 6-2 | 190 lbs | Senior | Guard | Woodburn, Ore. | Woodburn HS | Western Oregon Univ.
Veliz joins the Navy and Gold after competing in NCAA DII for four years with Western Oregon University. At WOU, Veliz graduated Cum Laude with a 3.7 GPA, collecting two Great Northwest Athletic Conference all academic team awards. In high school, Veliz was a two-time conference player of the year, three-time first team all-state, and accumulated 2,130 points scored. He averaged 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists per game his senior year, and set a school record of 43 points scored when he was a junior. Veliz was a high school varsity-starter for basketball and football all four years.
Veliz is pursuing a master's in business administration during his time at Corban.
Aashay Verma | 7-2 | 209 lbs | Graduate Student | Center | Canberra, Australia | Lake Ginninderra College | Jessup Univ.
Verma links with the Warriors with unbelievable height and experience. As a center, he has a career high of 20 points. Verma also received all-conference academic honors in 2022. In high school, Verma was a part of the NBA Global Academy.
Verma is pursuing an English degree with plans of becoming an advertiser and coach after graduating.
Spivey Word | 6-1 | 185 lbs | Junior | Guard | San Bernardino, Calif. | Damien HS | Palomar College
Word enters the Corban basketball program after two years at Palomar College. In his four years of high school basketball, he earned all-conference, all-league, and first team honors. He also was the California state championship MVP and averaged 26 points per game.
Word is pursuing a kinesiology degree with plans of becoming a sports therapist after Corban.
Jean Paul El Shamee | 6-10 | 205 lbs | Freshman | Forward | Sabtieh, Lebanon | Saint Thomas More Prep
El Shamee is the only true freshman joining the Warriors this upcoming season. He was on the Lebanese national team and the Middle East and North Africa region all-star travel team. El Shamee was named Champs club, Lebanon, 17U super league MVP, top rebounder, and best shot blocker.
El Shamee is pursuing a computer science degree with an interest of cyber security.
