GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced the 2024 Academic All-District teams for men's and women's At-Large programs across the country earlier this morning, where Corban University saw three eligible teams secure at least one honoree from their previous seasons of competition. For the NAIA specifically, women's beach volleyball, men's & women's bowling, competitive cheer and dance, men's & women's golf, men's volleyball, and men's & women's wrestling student-athletes are all considered within the at-large category during the 2023-24 school year.

The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Director of Athletic Communications from each collegiate institution, stretching from the NCAA divisions, NAIA, and junior colleges across the nation. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the awards: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically; maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. There are numerous playing requirements within the at-large category, varying from 70% match participation (women's beach volleyball/men's and women's wrestling/men's and women's golf) to 90% match participation or 66% starting in said season of competition (men's and women's lacrosse/men's volleyball).

The Navy and Gold programs with honorees selected from this past season include women's beach volleyball, women's lacrosse, and women's golf. The sandy Warriors led the way with three honorees, followed by lacrosse with a pair of selections and golf with a single Academic All-District student-athlete.

Representing the Corban beach volleyball program this year is junior Megan Dennis, junior Jessica McMillian, and sophomore Emmi Marks, who were all key members of the Warriors' third-straight national championship run that concluded in the semifinal round. "These three young ladies worked hard to improve their beach game each day at practice, and it's great to see that they matched that same level of effort in their studies as well," commented beach head coach Dan Stephens. "They are true leaders on the beach team, and each set an example by prioritizing their studies, which in turn will help us to continue strengthening our culture moving forward. We are very proud to have them representing Corban in the sand and in academics."

Women's lacrosse saw senior attacker Sydney Davis and sophomore midfielder Kailyn Dawkins selected to the national award, the first two Academic All-District winners for the team in program history. "Sydney and Kailyn are both great examples of the kind of student-athlete we desire to have in our program," shared head coach Meredith Pinkerton. "On the field, they are great leaders who help the team excel, and in the classroom, they are dedicate to keeping a high academic standard. It's not easy to maintain this balance, and I'm so proud of the hard work they have both put in over their years at Corban to exceed expectations!"

The women's golf program was led by team captain and top individual performer from the 2023-24 season, senior Kristin Senatra. "I'm so proud of Kristin and her dedication to golf, but more importantly, her dedication to her academics," stated Senatra's head coach Charlie Marshall. "She had a rigorous schedule this past year battling time and energy between golf, school, and her personal life. This is a very well deserved honor for her!"

An NAIA-based selection committee will determine exactly how many of the All-District recipients will advance to the Academic All-American Voting Round, which will be conducted over the next week across the nation. Nominees from every sport will be in one giant pool for voter consideration and will be selected upon with both athletic and academic success taken into account.
