CORVALLIS, Ore. – Corban University's varsity sports sponsored by the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) have once again been rewarded for their commitment to academic excellence, as the Warrior Athletic department was selected to a fourth-straight CCC Presidents' Cup Academic Excellence award for their student-athletes' performances in the classroom during the 2025-26 school year. Seven of the eight conference members to earn this year's recognition were also recipients in 2024-25, with one new honoree kickstarting their own award's cycle.

"This recognition is a reflection of the culture of excellence we strive for at Corban," shared Warriors' director of athletics Bill Pilgeram. "Pursuing growth academically, athletically, and spiritually has always been at the forefront of our mission. Earning this honor speaks volumes to the quality and character of our student-athletes, coaches, and University faculty/staff."
In order to receive the designation, a department must achieve an overall combined GPA of 3.0 or better among all student athletes that compete in sports sponsored by the CCC and declares a champion in, along with having 60% or higher of student-athletes who are eligible to receive Academic All-Conference (sophomore standing/3.2 GPA) recognition. Those varsity sports include men's/women's (M/W) soccer, M/W golf, M/W basketball, M/W wrestling, M/W cross country, M/W track & field, women's volleyball, beach volleyball, baseball, and softball.
The Corban Athletic department averaged a 3.38 cumulative GPA among the above listed sports to hit the first set of qualifications for the award this past school year, making an improvement of 0.03 GPA points from the 2024-25 school year. They also maintained the necessary 60% of student-athletes who were eligible to receive Academic All-Conference accolades for their respective season of competition by a thirteen percent margin with 73% of all Warriors earning the award in 2025-26, which ties their percentage set just last school year.
The department's 73% Academic All-Conference percentage achievement ranks sixth overall among CCC Presidents' Cup honorees, beating out both Bushnell University and Southern Oregon University while just one percentage point behind Oregon Tech.
