Six New Warriors Highlight McLain’s 2024 Women’s Volleyball Recruiting Class

SALEM, Ore. – An extremely decorated transfer junior and five true freshmen make up the 2024 recruiting class for Warriors' head coach Kim McLain and the Corban University Women's Volleyball team, as Pacific Northwest powerhouse looks to reload for yet another conference and national championship run in one of the most competitive leagues the NAIA has to offer. Coach McLain and her staff lost just a single starter to graduation from their most recent postseason appearance but is confident that her incoming recruits are ready to compete for their own starting roster spots in what could very well be her "deepest roster to date".

"I am thrilled to welcome these six talented student-athletes to our program," shared Coach McLain. "Each one of them brings a unique set of skills and a strong work ethic that will undoubtedly enhance our team this upcoming season. We are confident that their addition to our strong returning core will contribute to the overall success on the court, and we are excited to see them all in action this fall."

To read up more about the six recruits joining the Navy and Gold volleyball program, see below for a brief biography on each of the new Warriors.

Gracie Boeder | Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker | 5-11 | Junior | Albany, Ore. | West Albany HS/Linn-Benton CC

The program's lone transfer from the 2024 recruiting class needs no introduction for Willamette Valley volleyball fans, as Boeder joins the Warriors after a nearly flawless junior college career with Linn-Benton Community College. The Roadrunners went 70-1 in the two years Boeder graced the program, which included back-to-back NWAC Championships and a First Team All-American nod in 2023, not to mention the NWAC South Player of the Year, NWAC Baden Player of the Year, and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2023 NWAC Championship Tournament. She will become the third member of her family to play volleyball for the Warriors, joining both of her older sisters to don the navy and gold uniforms and will have at least two seasons to make her mark in the Corban record books.

Boeder plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in business with aspirations of a career in marketing.

Madison Hernandez | Defensive Specialist/Libero | 5-4 | Freshman | Bend, Ore. | Trinity Lutheran HS

One of the busiest resumes of any student-athlete to join Coach McLain's program, Hernandez made her mark among the state of Oregon over her three varsity seasons at Trinity Lutheran, as the defensive specialist traded in her jersey for the libero uniform and never looked back en route to a Second Team All-League honor in 2021, First Team All-League and Honorable Mention All-State in 2022, and First Team All-League and First Team All-State during a fourth-place finish in the OSAA state tournament this past fall.

A degree in forensic psychology awaits Hernandez as she plays out her collegiate volleyball career at Corban.

Jenna Konzelman | Middle Blocker | 5-11 | Freshman | Albany, Ore. | West Albany HS

An expected dual sport athlete for the Warriors in both women's volleyball this fall and track & field during the spring season, Konzelman has the opportunity to become an All-American in both seasons thanks to her impressive high school career. On the court, she was a First Team All-League honoree and Honorable Mention All-State her senior season, placing third among all high schools in the OSAA with 76 blocks. During the spring, she was an All-State performer in the girls' triple jump with a fifth place finish in 2023 and served as a leg in the district runner-up finish for the Bulldogs' 4x400m relay race.

Konzelman will be studying kinesiology while at Corban with dreams of becoming a physical therapist.

Addison Mills | Outside/Opposite Hitter | 6-1 | Freshman | Ephrata, Wash. | Ephrata HS

One of Coach McLain's two Washington signees for 2024, Mills looks to continue the Warriors' longstanding success with hitters as a threat from either side of the net. Her multi-sport resume speaks for itself, as athleticism clearly runs in her collegiate student-athlete family. Mills was a First Team All-League standout in volleyball, basketball, and tennis, including Second Team All-State honors and Player of the Year accolades during her 2023 volleyball season.

A future career in broadcast journalism has Mills in pursuit of a degree in business as a Warrior.

Dani Street | Defensive Specialist/Libero | 5-6 | Freshman | Corvallis, Ore. | Crescent Valley HS

A local product of the Mid-Willamette Valley, Street begins her collegiate volleyball career with a handful of high school accomplishments from her four seasons at Crescent Valley. She accumulated over 1,000 digs from her sophomore to senior year, which worked out to roughly 4.6 digs per set, as well as 137 service aces. Her leadership in the backcourt for the Raiders netted her team MVP awards, First Team All-League, and First Team All-State recognition in both 2022 and 2023. She was also a Second Team All-State Tournament team member in 2022 and 2023 when her team completed back-to-back state championship title runs.

Street will take advantage of a brand new nursing program and represent one of the first students to enroll in the major in Corban history.

Rebecca Wilber | Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | 5-8 | Freshman | Puyallup, Wash. | Puyallup HS

Wilber arrives on Corban's campus as both an indoor and beach volleyball recruit, as she'll trade the hardwood for sand this upcoming spring to join the Warriors' national championship winning program. This fall season, Wilber expects to translate her all-around success on the high school court in Puyallup to the college scene, as she continuously raised the bar in each of her four seasons to grow from Honorable Mention, to Second Team All-League, to First Team All-League in a matter of years. She also boasts a career attacking percentage of .406 as both an outside hitter and middle blocker with over three kills per set.

Whether it's as an athletic trainer, physical therapist, or massage therapist, Wilber intends to utilize a degree in kinesiology to achieve her career aspirations.
