Warrior Women’s Soccer Selected Fifth Overall in CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll Ranking

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2024 CCC Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Poll on Tuesday morning, where the Corban University Women's Soccer program was tabbed for a fifth-place finish in their third-straight occasion within the conference rankings. When compared to the men's soccer results, the women's conference preseason standings are much closer up and down the poll, with just over 50 voter points separating the entire top five.

"We are excited for this new season to keep building on our success from last year," shared Corban head coach Travez Whyte. "This is a fun conference to be a part of and we know where we stand, so we are excited to showcase it. Thanks for joining us on this journey!"

To no surprise, The College of Idaho was unanimously picked to repeat as conference champions in 2024, as the Yotes received all thirteen first-place votes en route to 169 total voter points. Eastern Oregon University (144) was selected as the conference runner-up for the second straight year, while Carroll College (129) turned heads last year to sail up the leaderboards this preseason with a third-place selection.

After the Mountaineers, Northwest University, and Corban finished in a three-way tie for third place to end the 2023 regular season, it was only expected that just a single voter point would separate the Eagles (115) and Warriors (114) in this year's preseason poll as the top five concludes in the same fashion as last season's standings.

The southernmost conference schools of Southern Oregon University (108) and Oregon Tech (97) clocked in at sixth and seventh, respectively, while Bushnell University was selected as the final playoff bound preseason program after qualifying for their first postseason in program history in 2023.

Warner Pacific University (50), Multnomah (48), Rocky Mountain College (45), The Evergreen State College (34), and the University of Providence (25) round out the thirteen-team preseason poll in ninth through thirteenth place and will begin the 2024 regular season as underdogs within an extremely competitive conference.

The top eight teams in the regular season standings will earn themselves a spot in the 2024 CCC Tournament at the end of the year, which is scheduled to begin on November 10th at a brand new host location in Medford, Oregon within the Lithia & Driveway Fields.

Corban looks to kick off their season slate this upcoming Saturday with their program alumni game at 12:30pm, followed by the first contest against a non-Corban team on Monday, August 12th against Chemeketa Community College at 6pm in a crosstown scrimmage.
