Corban Beach Volleyball Begins 2025 Season in National Top Three

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the preseason Women's Beach Volleyball Top 10 Coaches' Poll for the 2025 spring season, where the Corban University Beach Volleyball program was selected to a top three result following yet another national semifinal appearance in 2024. The Warriors' third-straight national semifinal appearance combined with a healthy clan of returners has the program primed for a return and deep run within their fourth-straight national tournament appearance.

"The national rankings are out and they look like an accurate guesstimate based on our expectations of how the NAIA will play out this season," explained Corban head coach Dan Stephens entering his second year as the program's leader. "There are always variables and a certain amount of guess work when trying to rate these teams from one season into the next. Each team loses players and recruits new ones, and until there are matches played, we don't know who truly has the strongest programs. I believe the CCC has become a powerhouse conference alongside the GSAC, and each will more than likely send one or two hardened teams to the national tournament. Our beachy Warriors have to focus on our conference matchups, fighting each match to beat one tough team after the next. We have the schedule and the ranking, and now it's up to us to prepare."

Despite receiving the most first-place votes based upon the results posted by the NAIA earlier this morning, the Navy and Gold will begin the 2025 spring preseason slate in third place nationally and first within the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC). Corban is preceded by Ottawa University-Arizona (OUAZ) and Arizona Christian University in the national poll, both of whom were able to knock off the top-ranked Warriors in the 2024 NAIA National Invitational Tournament.

This year's Corban beach volleyball squad will have plenty of motivation to climb back to the top of the beach volleyball scene with nine of ten starters set to return this year, including their top two overall pairings that consist of All-American award winners in senior Megan Dennis/sophomore Emma Bischoff and senior Jessica McMillian/sophomore Danae Stokes.

The Warriors are set to kick off the 2025 regular season with an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, February 15th at 12pm on the Corban Beach Volleyball Courts, with official matches beginning the weekend of February 21st when they host a trio of NCAA DI opponents in the University of Portland, the University of Oregon, and Sacramento State University for a four-team round robin tourney.
