No. 8 Warriors Cruise Past Geoducks Behind Incredibly Efficient Offensive Showing

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Behind their best offensive performance of the 2025 season to date, the No. 8-ranked Corban University Women's Volleyball team swung a heavy hammer tonight in their three-set road sweep of The Evergreen State College, as they committed under double-digit attacking errors and had their highest kill percentage for a single match through 22 games played.

"I'm proud of how our team came together and played for each other from start to finish," commented Warriors' head coach Kim McLain. "Everyone contributed and stayed locked in through every point. It was a total team effort, and that made the difference."

A dominant performance from the nationally ranked Corban squad (18-4, 12-3) resulted in their runaway victory within the Constantino Recreation Center earlier tonight, as they doubled up the Geoducks (1-18, 1-14) in nearly every statistical category, including a 44-20 advantage in kills and 43-25 in digs. Long scoring runs for the Warriors resulted in quick sets in the first and second, but Evergreen was able to hang around for an 8-7 lead in the third and eventually trailed 12-10, but the Navy and Gold regained their footing and ended the contest on a 13-4 run to post double-digit set wins in each of the three sets they won today in western Washington.

Junior outside hitter Kendra Bittle scored at will tonight against the Geoducks, as she led all players with 11 kills and no errors for a .647 kill percentage and was one of the biggest reasons that Corban held a team kill percentage of .398, their highest of the season for a single match. Fellow junior outside hitter Emma Bischoff tallied ten kills and a .471 kill percentage, while senior opposite hitter Makayla Roginski tacked on eight more kills and added five digs.

20 assists and five digs for senior setter Abby Guindy put the San Jose, California native just a single dime away from averaging 7.00 per set despite operating within a two-setter rotation, with junior setter Nadeiah Howard adding 13 assists and four digs as well. Bischoff led all student-athletes tonight with four service aces, while Guindy and Howard each added a pair of aces apiece.

Junior libero Kaile'a Ontai kept Evergreen honest with 14 digs in the backcourt to add to her Cascade Collegiate Conference lead in digs per set, which she now stands alone atop the leaderboards in following tonight's results across the Pacific Northwest.

The Geoducks were led by middle blocker Zofia Formella and her six kills, while setter Jayden Vaimaona dished out a team-high 11 assists. Libero Amaialyne Cepeda held the team-high mark in digs with eight and joined Formella with two service aces apiece.

The first of four-straight matches against teams receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll begins tomorrow night for the No. 8 Warriors, as they'll visit the Kristi Brodin Pavilion in their second matchup with No. 18-ranked Northwest University (13-8, 7-8) of the year.
