Corban Women’s Soccer Falls in Penultimate Contest of 2025 Regular Season

SALEM, Ore. – A single-goal lead lasted for the majority of the opening half in tonight's Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) matchup for the Corban University Women's Soccer team before the floodgates opened over the last five minutes, as Rocky Mountain College scored twice in a matter of minutes and four more times in the second half to secure the 7-0 road shutout.

"The score tonight was unfortunate, but I'm really proud of the way we came out and competed in the first half," commented Warriors' head coach Brooke Alteneder. "We showed a lot of promise and executed some things we've been working hard on. That kind of progress is exciting and gives us a lot to build on for the future of this program."

The Battlin' Bears (10-3-1, 8-2-1) picked up their tenth win of the season thanks to a second half hat-trick by forward Emma Lensing, with four other Rocky Mountain players all scoring a single goal and multiple assists being picked up along the way against the Warriors (5-11-0, 2-9-0). RMC outshot Coran 23-9 on the day, including an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Lensing was the game-high offensive statistical player with the three goals scored on 12 total shots and six on goal, while sophomore forward Maya Alston took five of the Warriors' nine shots, three of which resulted in saves by Rocky Mountain goalkeeper Matea Vernon who would eventually pick up the complete game shutout thanks to a match-high six saves. Corban redshirt senior goalkeeper Catriona Burns picked up four saves along the way in her seventh start of the year.

Tomorrow evening, the Warrior women's soccer program will honor their three senior student-athletes in the final home contest of the 2025 regular season when they're set to host Carroll College (6-4-5, 4-4-3) at 4:30pm with senior day festivities beginning around 4:15pm.
