Gladfelter Earns Second National Runner of the Week Honor in Three-Day Span

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released their Cross Country National Runners of the Week for the races held between September 29th to October 5th, where the No. 9-ranked Corban University Men's Cross Country team saw their top student-athlete pick up his second national award since Monday following a record-setting weekend in downtown Salem. Junior Jack Gladfelter was named the USTFCCCA National Men's Runner of the Week on Monday the 6th, and now adds an NAIA National Men's Runner of the Week honor just 48 hours later.

"Another great honor for Jack!" exclaimed Warriors' associate head coach Stuart Eagon. "It is still early in the season, and we want him to be ready for his best at the conference and national meets. I think we are on the right trajectory for him to compete for individual titles this fall, but he'll need to continue to do all of the little things to prepare. But we all know he is up for the challenge!"

Representing the third fastest time in the men's 8k race in 2025 across the entire NAIA, Gladfelter put together his single best long-distance performance thus far in his All-American career thus far, as he posted a 23:52.7 at the 50th annual Charles Bowles Invitational this past Saturday. The two-time All-American from Port Angeles, Washington made his first appearance of the season a memorable one, as he went head-to-head with the reigning USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week, No. 11-ranked Trinity Western University's Yemane Mulugeta, and finished over a second ahead of Mulugeta at Bush Park.

Among the over 300 student-athletes in action this past Saturday in Salem, Gladfelter's finish was the best among all-non NCAA DI participants and tops the three Cascade Collegiate Conference finishers within the top ten of an impressive long-distance lineup. The mark also sets a new program record originally set by Warrior legend Robert Swoboda in fall of 2023, a record that Gladfelter will now hold and looks to best in his next opportunity with still half of a fall 2025 and senior seasons still to be raced out.

Gladfelter and the rest of the Corban cross country programs will next race on Saturday, October 18th at the George Oja Invitational, which will be held at Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence by NCAA DIII Linfield University.
