SALEM, Ore. – The largest recruiting class in Corban University Cross Country history was announced earlier today by associate head coach Stuart Eagon, as fourteen true freshmen will take to the courses later this fall for the first time in their collegiate careers. All fourteen of the newly signed Warriors originate from the Pacific Northwest, ranging from hometowns within Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Montana.
"I believe this class of freshmen student-athletes is the most Corban cross county has ever had in a single recruiting cycle, so we're very grateful for God's providence" began Corban associate head coach Stuart Eagon. "We will have a few immediate contributors towards team scoring this upcoming fall, led by Logan Mason who will fight for a top five position and three freshmen in total who we could foresee on our conference squad for the men this fall. All of our women's recruits are also expected to be within our top seven performers, and we're excited to see what all of our newcomers have in store for this upcoming season."

Amelia Anstrand | 5-6 | Freshman | Boise, Idaho | Cole Valley Christian HS
With school records in both the steeplechase and girls' javelin at Cole Valley Christian High School, Anstrand arrives on the campus of Corban with five years of cross country and four seasons of track & field under her belt. She placed as high as third in district and eleventh in state during her four years of long-distance running for the Chargers.
Anstrand will be pursuing a degree in Corban's newly constructed nursing program to start off her collegiate career.
Samuel Bonsell | 6-0 | Freshman | Bremerton, Wash. | Olympic HS
Representing a four-year varsity boys' cross country member on the Olympic High School program, Bonsell qualified for the OSAA State Championships in two seasons in addition to his three years of varsity track & field. He will join the Warriors with a personal best 3,200m time of 9:48 and 4:29 in the 1,600m race.
Bonsell will be majoring in education with intentions of one day becoming a physical education teacher.
Ryder Britton | 5-11 | Freshman | Silverton, Ore. | Silverton HS
While running aboard the ninth-place Silverton High School state championship meet program, Britton was able to set personal best marks of 4:16.23 in the 1,500m and 9:08.97 in the 3,000m. He also served as one of the four legs in the 4x800m school record mark of 8:08.73 for the Foxes.
Britton will be joining Corban's incredibly successful accounting major as a true freshman.
Stephen Crover | 5-6 | Freshman | Gresham, Ore. | Sam Barlow HS
A four-year competitor for the Sam Barlow High School boys' cross country program, Crover served as team captain for the Bruins and finished his senior season with a personal best 5k time of 19:08.5 ran at the Nike Portland Cross Country meet in late September.
Crover has his sights set on a bachelor's degree in ministry within the Warriors' KAIROS program.
Palmer Detta | 6-2 | Freshman | Bellingham, Wash. | Mount Baker Senior HS
Entering as a true freshman but with junior academic status after participating in the Running Start program at Whatcom Community College, Detta will boost the deepest Corban men's cross country roster to date in 2025 with personal best times of 17:03 in the 5k, 4:32 in the 1,600m, and 2:00.38 in the 800m races. He served as team captain for the 2024 fall season at Mount Baker Senior High School and helped lead the Mountaineers to multiple state championship and national qualifiers.
With intentions of one day becoming a physical therapist or athletic trainer, Detta will attempt to earn a degree in kinesiology at Corban.
Ethan DeyArmin | 5-7 | Freshman | Arlington, Wash. | Evangel Classical School
Captaining the Evangel Classical School boys' cross country program in both his junior and senior seasons, DeyArmin sports a 19:08 personal best in the 5k race having finished 17th in the 1B/2B TriDistrict meet his senior year. He would go on to finish 49th in the state championship meet later the same fall season.
DeyArmin will be studying within the kinesiology department while he competes as a Warrior.
Kate Dickson | 5-2 | Freshman | Junction City, Ore. | Junction City HS
Dickson will join the Corban Athletic Department as a multi-sport athlete in the fall of 2025, beginning with the women's soccer team before making appearances for both the women's cross country and track & field programs. As a girls' soccer player at Junction City High School, Dickson secured All-League honors in her sophomore (Honorable Mention), junior (Second Team), and senior (Second Team) seasons and served as Team Captain for the Tigers over her final two years played. On the long-distance courses, she was an OSAA State Qualifier and First Team All-League recipient in all three seasons she coincided with soccer in the fall, while also qualifying for the state championships in track & field for the 4x100m and 4x400m relay races. In her high school winter seasons, Dickson picked up even more All-League accolades (Honorable Mention in 2024 & First Team in 2025) aboard Junction City's girls' basketball program.
With dreams of one day becoming an elementary school teacher, Dickson will begin the pursuit of a degree in elementary education.
Anna Dixon | 5-7 | Freshman | Greenleaf, Idaho | Greenleaf Friends Academy
Having competed in girls' cross country, basketball, and track & field during her high school career, Dixon brings numerous state championship accolades with her to the Corban long-distance and track & field crews. She's a two-time 1A state champion in the girls' 1,600m race, solo champion in the girls' 800m, and holds runner-up titles in both the 800m and cross country state meet. Additionally, Dixon owns the Greenleaf Friends Academy school records in 800m, 1,600m, 3,200m, and 5k races, and is the 1A Idaho state record holder in the 800m with a time of 2:15.
A bachelor's degree in agribusiness will Dixon's primary area of focus while competing as a Warrior.
Garrett Frongner | 5-11 | Freshman | Hillsboro, Ore. | Glencoe HS
During his senior season at Glencoe High School, Frongner earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors within the Pacific Conference and was a member of the 2024 Pacific Conference championship team that would eventually place eighth at the OSAA State Championship meet. He holds personal best marks of 16:35 in the 5k, 4:21 in the 1,500m, and 9:26 in the 3,000m.
Frongner will provide the Corban accounting department with yet another true freshman addition.
Adaline McDowell | 5-2 | Freshman | Maple Valley Wash. | Tahoma HS
A four-year varsity girls' cross country runner at Tahoma High School, McDowell will join the robust Warrior long-distance crews with personal best marks of 11:44.28 in the 3,200m and 5:31.12 in the 1,600m races. She was presented with the Aspiring Bear award during her time at Tahoma, which is a coach's award presented to an underclassman exceeding expectations.
McDowell is expected to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in ministry with an emphasis on Christian ministry.
Kai Kearns | 6-1 | Freshman | Eugene, Ore. | Churchill HS
Joining the Churchill High School cross country and track & field programs during his junior season, Kearns quickly earned a third place team finish in the Midwestern League and personal best times of 2:03 in the 800m, 4:13 in the 1,500m, and 4:35 in the mile races to earn himself a scholarship on the Corban men's cross country program.
Kearns will be working towards a degree in business management with the future goal of becoming either an accountant or manager.
Logan Mason | 5-10 | Freshman | Hillsboro, Ore. | Glencoe HS
Mason will become the second member of his family to join the Corban men's cross country program in the past two seasons, as he'll join is brother Bennet as one of the top sibling duos in the NAIA long-distance scene. Having set the Glencoe High School program record in the 3,000m at 8:38, becoming a First Team All-League cross country student-athlete, and Second Team All-League recipient in the spring 2025 track & field season, Mason will provide the Warriors with even more depth and positioning on meet days.
A degree in computer science awaits Mason at the end of his four-year Corban career.
Kirby McNeil | 6-2 | Freshman | DuPont, Wash. | Steilacoom HS
Four years aboard the Steilacoom High School boys' cross country program eventually saw McNeil finish his senior season with a personal best 17:04.8 in the 5k, placing 44th in the WIAA District 3-4 meet and eventually a top 100 finish in the 2024 WIAA State Championships.
McNeil will be pursuing a degree in accounting while competing as a Warrior.
Cavan Visser | 6-5 | Freshman | Manhattan, Mont. | Manhattan Christian HS
A loaded trophy case follows Visser as he arrives on Corban's campus to compete in long-distance for the Warriors, having won three team WIAA State Championship titles at Manhattan Christian High School, been named an All-State recipient in all four years of competition, and even finished in the top six of the state boys' golf championships in four-straight seasons from his freshman to senior campaigns.
Visser has enrolled at Corban as a kinesiology major and will begin work towards his degree during his true freshman season of competition.
