CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between November 10th to 16th, where for the second time in the first four weeks of the regular season, the RV Corban University Women's Basketball program saw one of their upperclassman leaders selected to the Defensive Player of the Week award. Graduate student center Emilia Bishop picked up her second defensive accolade from the conference following a dominant week in the paint where she helped lead the Navy and Gold to a pair of three-point road wins over NCAA institutions.

"I'm super proud of Emi and her defensive efforts recently," explained Corban head coach Kylie Frizell when asked to discuss her starting center. "I challenged her about two weeks ago to utilize her height advantage and natural skill to rebound without fouling, and that's been beneficial for the entire team to have her out on the court more both because of what she's able to do on defense as well as offensively."
Bishop served an integral role in the Corban women's basketball team's 75-72 victory over NCAA DIII George Fox University, and 82-79 comeback win over NCAA DII Western Oregon University, handing both the Bruins and Wolves losses in their season openers behind massive defensive performances. In addition to her offensive prowess, where she scored 43 points and averaged 21.5 across the two contests, Bishop locked down the paint to limit both opponents in possessions ending in points scored within the key, logging a steal and a block in over 56 minutes played.
Through one complete month of play, Bishop has hauled in 40 rebounds to average eight per game, which is currently tied for the third most per game in the CCC. She's hitting nearly 50% of her field goal attempts for a 15.2 points per game average while leading the Navy and Gold to a 11.8 point differential over their 5-0 start to the 2025-26 regular season.
The final full week of non-conference action for Bishop and the Warriors kicks off this upcoming Friday in Tacoma, Washington, as they'll battle NCAA DIII Pacific Lutheran University (0-3) at 5pm.
