Warriors Fall to RV Fighting Saints Amid Men’s Soccer Senior Night Festivities

SALEM, Ore. – A scoreless result at the halftime break was quickly put to rest by the visiting RV Fighting Saints of Carroll College five minutes into the second half, as the Corban University Men's Soccer team was unable to find the back of the net on their own offensive end of the field to counteract a four-goal effort by Carroll and eventually fell 4-0 in their final contest of the 2025 regular season. Prior to kickoff, the program recognized nine senior student-athletes who all participated in their final collegiate men's soccer games as Warriors, which included defender Miguel Gaytan, defender Rolando Castillo, midfielder Alejandro Villarreal, midfielder Isai Juarez Mendoza, midfielder Julian Lopez, forward Nathan Martinez, defender Landon Moore, forward Gerardo Lopez, and midfielder Santiago Castano.

"I'm grateful for our seniors and everything they've done for our program," expressed Corban head coach Tim Kagey earlier this evening. "We made a lot of growth this year and are. Excited about what next year will bring for Warrior men's soccer."

After being held scoreless for the opening half of play, the Saints (12-2-2, 10-1-1) retaliated with four goals across the final forty minutes available in regulation, as forward Pedro Teixeira cashed in on the game-winner and eventually finished with a brace performance. Forward Felix Billard assisted Teixeira on both of his scoring plays, while forwards Alfie Snow and Cyrille Wangama each added a goal apiece. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Juan Muniz Navarette secured five notable saves to keep Corban off the scoreboard, with goalkeeper Dane Quinn relieving and combining with Muniz Navarette for the road shutout.

Eight of the nine senior student-athletes recognized in today's pregame ceremony were able to take the field today for Coach Kagey and the Warriors at various playing time lengths, with Castano, Martinez, and Moore all taking two shots apiece to lead the Corban offense. The final start of redshirt senior goalkeeper Isaac Pureco's collegiate career concluded with seven more saves added to his all-time totals, and he will end his career with a goals-against-average (GAA) of 2.09, which is ninth-best in program history.

In Coach Kagey's first season having returned to the navy and gold kits, the Warriors finished with a 4-10-4 overall record and are expected to return 26 student-athletes with seasons of eligibility yet to be completed, yet the ever-changing climate of the collegiate men's soccer recruiting cycle will undoubtedly see Coach Kagey and his coaching staff bring countless new faces to Corban's campus in 2026. The Warriors will now finish out the remainder of fall term, enjoy the Christmas winter break, and reconvene for their 2026 spring training slate next calendar year.
