CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between January 27th to February 2nd, where the Corban University Baseball received their first weekly conference award in over a year thanks to a stellar Warrior debut for one of their many NCAA transfers to join the program over the last offseason.

"I'm very proud of Josephan, he's so deserving of the honor this week," Corban head coach Ryan Harris shared regarding the first weekly award winner of his coaching tenure. "He was outstanding. He has the ability, the presence, the experience and the stuff to be able to have outings like this. As a program, we look forward to continuing to work alongside him and seeing him compete."
In his first career start in the Navy and Gold pinstripes, redshirt junior Josephan Gonzalez tossed 5.0 innings of nearly perfect baseball, as he allowed just four batters to reach base via a pair of walks and a hit by pitch, while the fourth reached and scored via error to count as an unearned run and keep his ERA spotless. He utilized 78 pitches to cash in on seven strikeouts all while holding Simpson University hitless to set the Warriors up for a 12-1 run-rule of the RedHawks and secure his first win as a starter.
Gonzalez and the Warriors are back in action this week in Glendale, Arizona for a three-game set against No. 10-ranked Arizona Christian University, beginning on Thursday at 7pm AT/6pm PT.
