Roginski, Boeder Named CCC Players of the Week Following Weekend Sweeps in Southern Oregon

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between September 22nd to 28th, where the first time in the 2025 regular season, the No. 3-ranked Corban University Volleyball program was represented by multiple award winners following their weekend road trip sweep in southern Oregon. A pair of senior student-athletes earned recognition this morning, with opposite hitter Makayla Roginski garnering her second Attacker of the Week award while middle blocker Gracie Boeder was named to her first ever Defender of the Week honor.

Roginski and Boeder powered the No. 3 Warriors into straight-set sweeps of CCC foes Oregon Tech and No. 25-ranked Southern Oregon University over the past weekend to earn individual honors, with both representing offensive and defensive threats at the net in a 2-0 road trip appearance for the Corban women's volleyball team.

For the second time in 2025, Roginski has been named the CCC Attacker of the Week as she continues to dominate play against her conference opponents, as she's the only attacker across the CCC to appear in the individual top five leaderboards for kills, kills per set, and attacking percentage. She currently ranks fourth in total kills (184), third in kills per set (3.61), and second in overall kill percentage (.346). As of today's awards announcement, she stands just two tenths of a percent behind Kiauna Mack, middle blocker for No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University, for the conference lead in attacking percentage and is first among all pin attackers (outside and/or opposite hitters) by nearly five whole percentage points. Boeder is right behind Roginski in kill percentage at .327, which is good enough for third across the Pacific Northwest conference.

Against the Lady Owls and Raiders, Roginski averaged over three kills per set while Boeder secured nearly three blocks per set with eight assisted blocks versus OIT on Friday night and seven more with a solo stuff the following afternoon at SOU. The duo flipped sides of the net efficiently as well, with Roginski tacking on nine block assists across six sets played while Boeder tallied 11 kills on a .269 kill percentage.

"Makayla's recognition as Attacker of the Week is a direct result of her hard work and focus every single day," Warriors' head coach Kim McLain shared regarding her four-year starting opposite hitter. "She continues to raise the bar with her competitive mindset and drive to improve. I'm proud of the player and leader she is and what she brings to our team both on and off the court!"

"Gracie has truly earned this Defender of the Week honor with her dominant presence at the net," continued Coach McLain, this time concerning her senior leader in the middle of the offensive scheme. "She works hard every day in the gym and brings a tough, competitive edge to our defense. Gracie continues to grow into a powerful force for our team, and I'm proud of the strides she has been making."

Following their two-week road trip, Roginski, Boeder, and the rest of the Corban women's volleyball squad return to their home court later this weekend, beginning on Friday when they host RV Walla Walla University (7-4, 5-3) for a 2pm early afternoon match. The next day, they'll welcome their mascot doppelgangers from No. 17-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (9-2, 6-2) to Tim Hills Court for a 4pm first serve.
