No. 20 Warriors Complete Season Sweep of Beacons in Dominant Road Fashion

EUGENE, Ore. – It was all Warriors from start to finish tonight down the I-5 interstate, as the No. 20-ranked Corban University Women's Basketball team completed a 2-0 season sweep against their Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) travel partner rivals in Bushnell University by handing the Beacons a 30-point loss on their home court, 85-55 inside the Morse Center.

"This game came off a very quick turnaround with our recent road trip," began Warriors' head coach Kylie Frizell when asked to discuss tonight's outcome. "Our team did a great job responding and playing in the open court straight out the gate. I love how we share the ball, and you can see that with twenty-one assists to twenty-nine made field goals."

After splitting their ranked road trip matchups in eastern Oregon and western Idaho last weekend, the Warriors (15-4, 8-3) entered tonight's contest against the Beacons (5-14, 3-8) looking to clinch their first season sweep of Bushnell since the 2018-19 school year. An immediate three-pointer off the opening possession for the Dubs kicked off four-straight winning quarters of high-caliber offensive prowess for the Navy and Gold, never trailing in an overwhelming onslaught of scoring over Bushnell.

The Kent, Washington native continues to have an MVP caliber season for the Navy and Gold, as redshirt sophomore guard Jersey Huerta added another 19 points to her CCC-leading average tonight against the Beacons, adding six rebounds, three assists, and three steals along the way in reduced minutes to allow the Warrior bench to stretch their gameday legs. Every Corban starter finished in double-figure scoring, with graduate student center Emilia Bishop falling one rebound shy of a double-double effort with 11 points, nine boards, and four assists.

Bushnell had a pair of starters hit double-figures in the final minutes of tonight's matchup, as guard Sabrina Flowers and forward Maddie Gerhart both hit their tenth points in the fourth quarter, with Beacons' superstar scoring guard Ayden Krupke being held to just five points in 17 minutes played after dropping 36 on the Warriors in Salem.

Corban women's basketball will enjoy an extra day off on Friday as they prepare for their Saturday afternoon matchup back on Tim Hills Court, as they're scheduled to host Warner Pacific University (8-9, 4-6) at 3pm.
