"We are really excited as we're gearing up for our first set of competitions as we continue to ramp up our practices. This is brand new year with tons of new faces, and that brings such a fresh mentality and gameplan for us to begin the season," began Warriors' third-year head coach Kylie Frizell. "These preseason polls go to show how competitive and elite our conference is. I keep thinking back to last year when we went into the last weekend of conference play with five different programs that could have clinched the CCC title with the right scenarios. We're just so excited to continue to compete in one of the strongest conferences in the country, and for an opportunity to build on our legacy of excellence and tenacity at Corban that is built on Christlike character, trust, and being a good teammate."
The Warriors enter the new campaign following one of the most successful seasons in program history, as the Navy and Gold captured both the CCC regular-season championship and CCC Tournament title while advancing to the NAIA National Championship Tournament. The Warriors finished the 2025-26 season with a 26-6 overall record and a 16-4 conference mark, securing the program's first CCC regular-season crown in 15 years before completing a dominant postseason run on their home floor.
Corban's championship season was highlighted by hosting the first-ever single-site CCC Women's Basketball Tournament and taking full advantage of home-court advantage. The Warriors defeated Northwest University, Oregon Tech, and Lewis-Clark State College en route to the tournament championship, capping the run with a convincing 57-38 victory over LC State in the title game. The tournament crown secured the CCC's automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship Tournament and completed a sweep of the conference's regular-season and tournament championships.
Despite being slotted third in the preseason rankings, the margin atop the poll is razor thin. The College of Idaho claimed the top position with 107 points and five first-place votes, while Oregon Tech followed closely with 101 points and two first-place votes. Corban's 100 points and three first-place votes leave just seven points separating the Warriors from the preseason favorite and only one point behind the Hustlin' Owls. Based on the voting results, another highly competitive race for the CCC championship appears likely.
The Warriors will look to build upon a season in which they ranked among the CCC's most dynamic offensive teams, leading the conference in scoring, assists, and three-point shooting during league play while earning national recognition throughout the year. Returning championship expectations and a proven culture of success have positioned Corban squarely among the conference favorites entering the 2026-27 campaign.
