Warriors Add Championship Pedigree in Ten-Man Men's Wrestling Recruiting Class

SALEM, Ore. – Continuing to build momentum within one of the NAIA's premier wrestling conferences, the Corban University Men's Wrestling program has announced the addition of ten student-athletes as part of its 2026-27 recruiting class. The incoming group features state champions, state placers, district champions, and nationally recognized competitors from across Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, and Arizona.

The recruiting class spans weight classes from 125 pounds through heavyweight and includes multiple state champions, all-state selections, and club wrestling standouts. The group will look to strengthen the Warriors' lineup as Corban continues its pursuit of success within the Cascade Collegiate Conference and on the national stage.

AJ Berryhill | 285 Pounds | 6-7 | Freshman | Vail, Ariz. | Cienega HS

Berryhill gives the Warriors another proven heavyweight competitor. The Arizona native qualified for the state tournament in all four years of high school, placing three times and ultimately winning a state championship. In addition, he earned All-American recognition and competed in both wrestling and football throughout his prep career. Berryhill plans to major in agricultural science and pursue a career in farming and ranching.

Bones brings championship credentials to Corban after a dominant high school career in Idaho. A three-time state placer, district champion, and two-time district finalist, Bones also captured three Idaho state championships during his prep career.

He plans to major in forensic psychology with the goal of becoming a police officer.

Damian Fernandez | 125 Pounds | 5-6 | Freshman | Mount Vernon, Wash. | Burlington-Edison HS

Hendrix intends to study criminal justice.

Hesston Likens | 157 Pounds | 5-10 |  Freshman | Medford, Ore. | North Medford HS

Likens enters Corban as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in the recruiting class. The Medford native captured an Oregon state championship while becoming a four-time state placer and multiple-time district champion. A valedictorian with a 4.6 weighted GPA, Likens plans to major in biomedical sciences and pursue a career as an orthodontist.

RJ Manski | 125 Pounds | 5-4 | Redshirt Sophomore | Folsom, Calif. | Folsom HS | Umpqua CC

Manski joins the Warriors after competing at Umpqua Community College. Prior to his collegiate career, he established himself as one of California's top lightweight wrestlers at Folsom High School, compiling a 44-11 record, winning a conference championship, placing fourth at the Sac-Joaquin Masters Tournament, and qualifying for the California State Championships. Manski also earned state titles through both SCWAY and CAUSA competitions and qualified for the Fargo National Championships in freestyle wrestling.

He'll look to continue the pursuit of a degree in forensic psychology while competing as a Warrior.

Leonardo Michel | 149 Pounds | 5-7 | Freshman | Stayton, Ore. | Stayton HS

Michel becomes part of the Warrior family following an impressive prep career at Stayton High School. Michel compiled an outstanding 168-22 career record while competing for Salem Elite Mat Club.

He plans to study kinesiology with aspirations of becoming an athletic trainer.

Ryder Nelson | 174 Pounds | 6-1 | Freshman | Salem, Ore. | West Salem HS

A local standout, Nelson arrives from West Salem High School after spending four years in the Titans' wrestling program. He captured the Larry Owings Invitational championship and competed for both Salem Elite Wrestling Club and West Salem Mat Club. His family wrestling roots run deep, as his father competed collegiately at NCAA DI Oregon State University.

Off the mat, Nelson plans to pursue a ministry degree with the goal of entering pastoral ministry.

Samuel Platz | 197 Pounds | 6-0 | Freshman | Union, Ore. | Union HS

Platz arrives in Salem after a remarkable athletic career at Union High School. A four-time wrestling state qualifier, he captured an OSAA state championship and finished as state runner-up twice.
