SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Opening Day for the No. 2-ranked Corban University Beach Volleyball program concluded earlier this afternoon in southern California, where the Warriors dropped a 3-2 dual decision to No. 4-ranked Mustangs of The Master's University before responding with a brief 5-0 sweep of NCAA DII California State University Los Angeles, 5-0 at the TMU Beach Volleyball Courts.
"We came out a bit flat and nervous today against The Master's, and it showed against a very strong team," explained Warriors' head coach Dan Stephens. "It was disappointing, but I hope we can learn from it and be better mentally prepared to compete against them again tomorrow. We rebounded well against Cal State LA, and it was good for us to get some rhythm back and ride the momentum into tomorrow."

The Master's clinched the top four national matchup in the No. 3 pairing, with the Navy and Gold sixth exhibition pair consisting of junior Jordan Faircloth and sophomore Rebecca Wilber picking up their own win to split the pairs played today down the middle, 3-3.
