SALEM, Ore. – It was all Warriors in their 2026 home debut to kick off the Corban Invitational, as the No. 2-ranked Corban University Beach Volleyball team dropped just two sets across six pairs in a clean 5-0 team score sweep of NCAA DI University of Portland.
"We were in some tight matches today against the University of Portland and we battled through for some big wins," explained Corban head coach Dan Stephens. "There are five good teams here this weekend and we will continue to be tested, which is great this early in the season."
Sweeping set scores from the first, fourth, fifth, and exhibition sixth pairs for the Navy and Gold (4-1) allowed them to cruise into a 5-0 match sweep of the Pilots (0-1), extending their all-time career record against the NCAA DI program to 12-2 and riding an eleven-match winning streak. The most dominant outing of the morning belonged to the No. 1-pairing of senior Emmi Marks and junior Emma Bischoff who completed a 21-9 blowout of UP's Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson in set one before fending off the Pilots 26-24 in an extra-point second set victory.
