Weekend Sweeps of No. 22 Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon Nets Warriors CCC Team of the Week Honor

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC UnderArmour Team of the Week for competitions held between February 2nd and 8th, where the Corban University Men's Basketball team was selected among both the winter and spring sports in action across the Pacific Northwest as this week's honoree following their dominant weekend sweep of two of the conference's most prolific men's basketball programs.

"I am so proud and thankful for our team's collective mindset, heart, and tenacity over these past two games," expressed Corban head coach Wayne Mendezona when he learned of his program's most recent accomplishment in his first season leading the team. "All of our players have demonstrated a selfless and sacrificial attitude, that focuses on team goals and not individual stats and accomplishments. We are very grateful and humbled to receive this recognition, Go Warriors!"

The best weekend of basketball played for the Warriors all season long couldn't have come at a better time, as the Navy and Gold welcomed a pair of teams battling for the CCC regular season title and have both received votes in the NAIA National Coaches' Poll over the course of this year. No. 22-ranked Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon University were both tied for the top spot in the conference standings entering their weekend matchups in the Willamette Valley, with both having swept Corban in their initial meetings last December.

On Friday night, the Dubs shocked the CCC once again with a dominant 20-point victory over the nationally ranked Hustlin' Owls, as they held OIT to just 28 points in the second half while putting 50 of their own points on the scoreboard in a 90-70 drubbing within the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. The 20-point margin represents the worst loss of the season for Tech, with the Dubs' 90 points tying the most allowed by OIT in a single game all year long.

The following afternoon, Corban hosted Southern Oregon looking to sweep the Klamath Basin and Rogue Valley programs for the first time since 2022-23 and held a slight two-point edge entering the halftime break. Despite numerous offensive pushes by the Raiders throughout the second half, the Warriors had an answer for every punch thrown to secure a 79-71 victory and hand SOU their second road CCC loss of the season.

The Warrior men's basketball program will host their final home games of the 2025-26 season this upcoming weekend, beginning on Friday, February 13th when they'll attempt to continue their winning streak against postseason competition as the defending national champion Yotes of The College of Idaho visit Tim Hills Court at 7:30pm.
