GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced the 2026 Academic All-District teams for men's and women's basketball programs across the country earlier this morning, where Corban University saw four women and one men's student-athlete selected to the prestigious national award.

The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Director of Athletic Communications from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the awards: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically and have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through their most recently completed semester. For men's and women's basketball specifically, student-athletes must have competed in at least 90% of all contests OR started in 66% of all games for the 2025-26 season.
Four of the Warrior women's basketball program's most integral players during the most recent regular season and tournament championship runs were named to the CSC's district academic award today, which included graduate student center Emilia Bishop, senior forward Mandie Jensen, redshirt junior guard Jenna Albrecht, and junior guard Tayla Yost. Bishop, Albrecht, and Yost all served as key pieces in starting lineup, while Jensen made herself known around the conference as the best player off the bench to earn the Cascade Collegiate Conference's 6th Player of the Year Award.
"I'm really happy that Mandie, Jimmy, Emi, and Tayla could be recognized with this award, as they put so much effort into their work in the classroom which is such a big part of what our program is about," shared Corban women's head coach Kylie Frizell. "Pursuing excellence in all things is an important mindset we hold, and that goes for on the court, in classroom, and in all walks of life. This award is a testament to what it truly means to be a student-athlete within our program, which is being able to balance both the student and athlete portions while excelling in each area no matter what their major is."
The lone representative from the Corban men's basketball program this awards cycle was represented by their starting center in redshirt junior Tj Zimmermann, who made a name for himself across the Pacific Northwest as both a lethal scorer and primary defender which earned him All-Conference honors as he powered the Warriors to a 2026 CCC Tournament Championship title.
"Tj represents everything we want in a student-athlete," began men's basketball head coach Wayne Mendezona. "His ability to perform at a high level academically while competing night in and night out is a testament to his character and leadership."
An NAIA-based selection committee consisting of members from the athletic communication departments across the country will now determine which of the All-District recipients will receive Academic All-American honors. Nominees will all be grouped together based on primary positions played for the scholarly All-American status with both athletic and academic success taken into consideration.
