Corban Women’s Golf Concludes Day One in Bushnell Dual Season Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Corban University Women's Golf team opened the 2026-27 campaign on Friday at their annual fall dual with Bushnell University, completing the first round at Pine Ridge Golf Club in second place with a team score of 94-over-par. The Warriors trail host Bushnell, which holds the team lead at 34-over-par, heading into Saturday's final round at Tokatee Golf Club.

"Our ladies had a rough start but were able to make great improvements on their back nine," expressed head coach Charlie Marshall. "Each of our ladies made fewer bogeys, trimming off a total of 38 strokes. I'm proud of how they kept battling today and are looking to keep the momentum going for our final round tomorrow."

Corban was led by junior Ashlyn Thomas, who paced the Warriors with an opening-round score of 16-over-par to sit tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard after 18 holes. Junior Madelyn Moore added an 18-over-par round and currently occupies seventh place, while freshman Amanda Ramirez sits ninth at 24-over. Junior Kaylee Umbright rounded out the Warrior lineup with a score of 36-over-par. Through one round of competition, Thomas remains within striking distance of the top five as Corban looks to close the gap in Saturday's finale.

Bushnell's Hailey Smith holds the individual lead at 9-over-par, followed by teammate Kylee Smith at 10-over. The Beacons also own the top team position through the opening day, with Corban sitting in second place entering the concluding round of the dual.

Corban women's golf will wrap up their fall dual with Bushnell on Saturday at a new venue, Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.
