Divers Among Top Ten Individuals, Warriors Cool Off Following Red Hot First Round at OIT Fall Invite

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After opening the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational with one of the strongest rounds in the field, the Corban University men's golf team was unable to maintain its early momentum during Monday afternoon's second round at Running Y Ranch Resort. The Warriors entered the afternoon near the top of the team standings following an opening-round score of 294 (+6), but a second-round 298 (+10) dropped Corban to seventh place overall with a 36-hole total of 592 (+16) heading into Tuesday's final round.

"I'm very proud of our men for playing two solid rounds today," explained Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "We struggled with the greens for a majority of the day, which led to some higher scorecards than we would have liked. Shoutout to Rane's 69 in the first round and Isaac's 72 in the second."

The event features many of the Cascade Collegiate Conference's (CCC) top programs, with No. 15-ranked University of British Columbia leading the field at 555 (-21) and No. 20-ranked Lewis-Clark State College close behind at 561 (-15). Corban sits just 10 strokes out of a tie for third place entering the tournament's concluding 18 holes.

Corban's scoring lineup was paced by freshman Rane Divers, who sits tied for ninth overall at even-par 144 after opening the tournament with a three-under 69 before carding a 75 in round two. Sophomore Isaac Laro is tied for 25th at 148 (+4), highlighted by an even-par 72 during the afternoon round, while seniors Owen Heath and David Harvey share 31st place at 150 (+6). Heath posted matching rounds of 75, and Harvey followed an opening-round 74 with a 76 in round two. Freshman Casyn Simmons rounds out the Warriors' scoring five in a tie for 52nd at 157 (+13). Competing as an individual, freshman Colby Lerten is also tied for 52nd at 157 (+13) through 36 holes.

The race for individual medalist honors remains tightly contested through 36 holes. British Columbia's Jake Houston leads the field at 11-under-par 133 after rounds of 67 and 66, while Lewis-Clark State's Andrea Artusini sits second at 136 (-8). Teammate Lucas Ortega is third at 138 (-6), and British Columbia's Manpreet Lalh occupies fourth place at 139 (-5). Rounding out the top five is Lewis-Clark State's Archie Jones, who stands at 141 (-3) entering the tournament's final round.

Corban will conclude play at the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational on Tuesday morning before returning to action on Sept. 14th and 15th at the Tournament of Knights in Portland, Oregon, hosted at Glendoveer Golf Course.
