Josh Warner (Independence, Ore.) went a combined 4-for-7 with one home run, as Corban's baseball team swept the Bruins of Bethany, 10-2 & 16-5, Saturday afternoon at Wilcox High School to push their winning streak to four games.

Nate Mayben, the Warriors got a complete game pitching performance from freshman
Tyler Doornink (Yakima, Wash.) in the opener before scoring at least one run in six-out-of-nine innings in the finale.
In Game #1, Corban tallied five runs in the first inning, one in the fourth, and four runs in the sixth. In the opening frame, the Warriors first three hitters – Warner, junior
Matt Schmidt (Corvallis, Ore.), and senior
Craig Spicer (Vancouver, Wash.) – reached safely via a single, double, and double. The very next batter – senior
Russ Johnston (Independence, Ore.) – brought in Corban's first run via a sacrifice fly before freshman
Steven Blum (Salem, Ore.) registered a two-run double to jump start the Warriors' offensive afternoon.
Warner, Schmidt, and Spicer each went 2-for-4 to lead the Warriors' offense, as Warner registered his first career home run to go along with a pair of doubles by Spicer.
Doornink had complete command on the mound, as the first-year Warrior allowed two unearned runs on four hits to go along with a career-high five strikeouts.
In Game #2, Corban was held scoreless in the first two innings before exploding for two runs in the 3rd inning, three in the 4th, six runs in the 5th, one run in both the 6th & 7th inning, and three more runs in the 9th inning.

Kyle Taylor (Clackamas, Ore.), and sophomore
Tony Salamone (Medford, Ore.) – registered two-or-more hits, as Spicer, Blum, and Salamone recorded three hits each to lead Corban's bat-attack.
Pitching-wise, sophomore
Trevor Winsor (Troutdale, Ore.) went the opening 5.0 innings allowing one run on two hits to go along with a game-high six K's. Winsor turned the ball over to a trio of relievers – sophomore
Chris Trammell (Salem, Ore.), freshman
Mike McKay (Almira, Wash.), and freshman
Quinn Macnab (The Dalles, Ore.) – for the final four innings. Trammell pitched the sixth inning, while McKay got the opening out of the 7th inning before Macnab closed out the game over the final 2.2 innings with four strikeouts.
With the wins, Corban improves to 6-9 overall and 4-4 in NAIA West action. Meanwhile, Bethany falls to 5-12 overall and 2-4 in NAIA West play. The Warriors are back in action on Friday, March 13th, against British Columbia beginning at noon in Vancouver, B.C. at Nat Bailey Stadium.
