Warriors Fall to Nationally-Ranked L-C State

LEWISTON, Idaho – In a pair of NAIA West games and a double header in which Corban was the home team, the Warriors' baseball team fell to the NAIA's No. 18-ranked Warriors of Lewis-Clark State, 11-0 & 20-0, Friday afternoon at Harris Field.

Seven different Warriors – senior Aarason Perry (Susanville, Calif.), senior Trevor Winsor (Troutdale, Ore.), junior Jared Fritz (Ridgefield, Wash.), sophomore Matt Hamlin (Hamilton, Mt.), sophomore Kyle Kunkel (Bremerton, Wash.), sophomore Alex Bost (San Jose, Calif.), and sophomore Kris Bos (Jerome, Idaho) – registered hits, while seven pitchers – senior Kyle Lamson (Medford, Ore.), senior Nate Hiebert (Lebanon, Ore.), senior Chris Trammell (Salem, Ore.), junior Luke Loberg (Sublimity, Ore.), sophomore David Hull (Kelso, Wash.), Bos, and freshman Justin White (Pleasant Hill, Ore.) – combined to pitch against the nationally-ranked Warriors.

In the opening game, Lewis-Clark State plated runs in the first, fourth, sixth, and ninth innings with Alfonso Casillas and Aaron DeGuire registering home runs in L-C State's 13-hit showcase.

Bos, Winsor, and Hamlin each registered hits for Corban, while White went the opening 4.0 innings allowing six earned runs on seven hits before turning the ball over to Lamson for the final 5.0 innings of work.

In the night cap, Lewis-Clark State scored at least one run in each inning with Michael Bush and Braxton Miller hitting home runs in the Warriors' 26-hit performance.

Perry, Fritz, Bost, and Kunkel each had a hit for Corban, while Hiebert went the opening inning allowing six earned runs on six hits before giving way to the Warriors' bullpen.

With today's result, Corban falls to 9-35 overall and 4-21 in NAIA West play. Lewis-Clark State improves to 28-13 overall and 17-8 in league games. These same two teams will conclude their six-game series this week tomorrow – April 23rd – in a double header beginning at noon on Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho.
