UBC's Alex Graham went the distance in the opener allowing one earned run on four hits with a game-high five strikeouts, while Sean Callegari went the first 7.1 innings in Game #2 before turning the ball over to Mike Verweel for the final 1.2 innings of work.

GAME #1 — BRITISH COLUMBIA 5, CORBAN 1

In Saturday's opener, British Columbia would take the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Firth doubled down the left field line to drive in Tyson Popoff for an early 1-0 lead for the home team.

Three innings later, Aaron Horanski lifted a sacrifice fly to center field that allowed Biro to score the eventual game-winning run and handed UBC a two-run lead (2-0).

In the bottom of the seventh inning, British Columbia would add a pair of insurance runs on a sacrifice fly to center field by Firth and a RBI doulbe to right field by Hole that gave the host T-Birds a four-run lead (4-0).

Corban would put its lone run of the game on the board in the top of the ninth inning when freshman Lathan Alger reached on a fielder's choice before moving to third on a double down the right field line by Legg. On a ground out by Martin, Alger would come home to score the game's final run as Corban dropped the opener by the final score of 5-1.

Legg, Martin, Johansen, and Kunkel would register hits for Corban, as the Warriors were held to a mere four hits in Game #1.

British Columbia would get a 2-for-3 performance from Popoff that included a pair of runs scored, while Firth and Hole combined to drive in all of UBC's runs in the game.

GAME #2 — CORBAN 2, BRITISH COLUMBIA 1

The nightcap would be a pitcher's dual throughout, as British Columbia got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jeremy Kral reached on a fielder's choice that allowed pinch-runner Tyler Enns to score giving the host T-Birds a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the sixth inning, Corban would tie the game at 1-1 when Alger replaced Koenig in a pinch-runner role before being driven home by Kunkel on a single to right field one batter later.

Two innings later, Corban would score the game-winning run taking a 2-1 lead when Johansen ripped a two-out single to right field that scored Koenig following his single two batters earlier.

British Columbia would only register one more hit over the final two innings, as Kopra and Corban's defense stepped up to the challenge en route to picking up the Warriors' third win in the past 14 games against UBC.

Romero, Koenig, and Legg would lead Corban's offense with two hits each, while four other Warriors that included freshman Jake Kunkel also tallied a hit in the night cap.

British Columbia got hits from Firth, Kral, and Biro against Corban's Kopra.

Both teams will return to action tomorrow – Sunday, April 14th – to close out the four-game weekend series in a late morning double header beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Thunderbird Park in Vancouver, British Columbia.
